Roar!

In an instant, yellow sand billowed, terrifying and immense. A deafening roar filled the depths of the desert. The Death Worm, in hot pursuit of the group, opened its blood-drenched maw and let out a thunderous bellow. Each time those abyss-like jaws opened and closed, they whipped up a biting, icy wind, accompanied by a foul, unbearable stench.

For a moment, the world seemed to shake and shatter as if the earth were collapsing. Nothing could be heard but endless roars and the massive, slithering sound of the creature.

"Wail, you pathetic mortals!"

Before this gargantuan Death Worm, Gu Mo and his four companions stood in a line, scurrying away in a panic, desperate and disheveled. How minuscule humanity appeared when compared to such a monster! Yet, were any of these five fleeing figures truly normal?

The boundless Death Worm writhed its massive body, relentlessly chasing them, oblivious to the mortal danger it was courting. Sometimes, if you don't court death, you won't die!

...

Yu Kongcheng, transformed into a Bloodthirsty Lone Wolf, took the lead, leaving the other four far behind. A critical question suddenly surfaced in his mind. The young man, now a lupine beast, shouted back without turning his head:

"Hey! Why aren't we splitting up? I'll bet a pack of spicy strips that the Death Worm definitely won't chase me!"

Hearing this, the group was stunned. After exchanging bewildered glances, they spoke in unison:

"That’s right! Why aren't we splitting up?"

The other four were completely baffled. Then, Gu Mo, clutching his Measure-the-Heaven Ruler, cast an approving look at Yu Kongcheng. "Kongcheng, you really are clever!"

...

No sooner had the words left his lips than a series of *whooshing* sounds echoed! The five scattered, moving in pairs toward the left and right flanks.

Looking closely: on the left flank were Xiao Yulou, dressed in his black Taoist robes, and Gu Mo, still fused with the Gluttonous Ghost. On the right flank were Min Wenhua, carrying his heavy sniper rifle, and a series of footprints appearing out of thin air. Li Hetang, that sneaky fellow, was relying on the stealth mode of his polar combat suit, making him the hardest to spot.

Although the Death Worm was massive, in the blink of an eye, its crimson body surged past the four of them. Seeing this, the group, having narrowly escaped the battlefield, panted heavily, cold sweat streaming down their faces. Though they all possessed supernatural abilities and were seasoned in combat, the Death Worm they faced was monstrously oversized; fear was only natural. Had it been ordinary people, they would have been frozen in terror, perhaps even losing control of their bowels!

Yu Kongcheng, the Bloodthirsty Lone Wolf, was far ahead and had no intention of changing direction, continuing to charge straight forward. His bet had barely been made before it became reality. The giant Death Worm chased only him; it seemed those four packs of spicy strips were lost.

Young people truly are reckless! The Death Worm, however, had eyes only for slaughter and revenge. It seemed this massive monster didn't understand the concept of turning corners! Who told them to beat the creature so badly in the first place?

...

In the blink of an eye, the impossibly huge Death Worm shifted its target entirely to Yu Kongcheng. This was somewhat comical. Who was Yu Kongcheng? He was the kind of man who sat on the toilet facing outward—a man of iron grit! Besides, young as he was, he was a special operations agent from the 749 Food Processing Plant. There was only one outcome for those who targeted him: death!

At the critical moment, in the flash of a spark, a proud wolf howl tore through the night sky.

*Awoo!*

The howl pierced the night, and the Bloodthirsty Lone Wolf Yu Kongcheng suddenly dropped his body, slamming his lupine legs into the sand for a sharp stop. *Skree!* A vast spray of yellow sand was kicked up. Then, this arrogant wolf, who considered himself second to none, turned to face the Death Worm with a cold stare.

Suddenly, the horrific form of the Death Worm filled the entire horizon. Compared to it, Yu Kongcheng’s lupine form was but a drop in the ocean. Seeing its prey stop, the Death Worm grew even more excited.

*Roar!*

The charging Death Worm opened its blood-drenched maw and roared at Yu Kongcheng, clearly intending to swallow him whole. Its teeth, thick as telephone poles, were coated in green, corrosive liquid. It was as terrifying as one could imagine!

Yu Kongcheng, transformed into the Bloodthirsty Lone Wolf, licked his sharp fangs while looking at the giant monster, his lips curling into a wicked, charming smile.

"Time to start the slaughter!"

As he spoke, he pulled three crimson blood reagents from his pocket and injected them into his arm. *Psh!* A negligible sound followed. (And yes, when this Bloodthirsty Lone Wolf first transformed, his shirt and shoes were shredded; now, his black trousers were his last shred of dignity. Don't ask why—a werewolf in pants is quite the look!)

In a heartbeat, Yu Kongcheng’s murderous eyes flared, and his already two-meter-tall lupine form expanded even further. With a thunderous *whoosh*, a massive spray of green corrosive liquid erupted. *Sizzle, sizzle!* The sound of acid eating away at the ground echoed, and white mist began to rise in the desert.

*Swish!*

An afterimage appeared on the open sand. Yu Kongcheng was already standing atop the body of the Death Worm. What speed... was he Usain Bolt? A sharp wolf howl tore through the night again. A ghostly black shadow was seen using icy-glinting claws to rend and tear. Every slash Yu Kongcheng made unleashed a wave of blood-red killing intent.

*Sasasa~*

Under the frenzied assault, blood sprayed everywhere. The entire scene was one of extreme carnage. The more blood that flowed, the more excited Yu Kongcheng became.

*Roar!*

The Death Worm, feeling the pain, twisted its massive body frantically, letting out wails of agony. It tried to shake off the god of death on its back, but the slaughter had begun—how could it stop so easily? The battlefield was filled with deafening impacts, yellow sand flying, and blood mist swirling! It turned out that it wasn't just Gu Mo who could enter a berserker state; the eerie, bloodthirsty Yu Kongcheng was just as monstrous!

...

At this point, one must ask: what were Gu Mo and the others doing?

You know the answer! The consistent style of the Gu Mo team was to "eat tight in the rear while the front is in peril." A few seconds ago, the desert depths had once again taken on an air of "watching the flowers bloom and fall in the courtyard, watching the clouds roll and unfurl in the sky." History is always shockingly similar!

The four survivors, having escaped death, sat slumped on the ground, pulling out Snickers bars to sweep away their hunger. After all, the long, blood-boiling escape had pushed their physical limits to the edge. If they didn't replenish their energy now, they wouldn't be able to handle the brutal battles to come!

For now, the four of them had no choice but to watch the tiger fight from the mountain, leaving all the trouble to Yu Kongcheng. Who told the kid he could transform into a Bloodthirsty Lone Wolf? Was there anyone else present braver than him?

*Click.*

Xiao Yulou, as sneaky as ever, lit a cigarette first, then tossed the pack to the other three.

*Whoosh!*

The Gluttonous Ghost, which had been fully enveloping Gu Mo, reached its time limit. The furry little monster slowly opened its massive maw, and its thick black fur receded like a tide. In the blink of an eye, Gu Mo, dressed in his Zhoushan Psychiatric Hospital uniform, appeared before them.

Looking at the Gluttonous Ghost, the little black ball was panting heavily, clearly on the verge of exhaustion. Seeing this, Gu Mo held the little fellow in his arms, stroking it with heartfelt sympathy. *Gurgle, gurgle.* The greedy little black coal ball opened its mouth, looking at the group with eyes like a galaxy.

Xiao Yulou, that sly fox, chuckled and brought out a large stash of snacks and energy drinks. (One really has to wonder why a Taoist practitioner like Xiao Yulou would stock so much Red Bull. Is he really that weak?)

Seeing this familiar scene, Gu Mo widened his eyes to the size of ox eggs, glared at Xiao Yulou, and then contentedly surrendered to reality.

*Crunch, crunch!*

The four of them, plus one pet, dove into their meal! After a simple and crude energy replenishment, the four tacitly hoisted their weapons and gear, wading back into the fray...

The camera pans: the group had taken their positions, fully prepared. Xiao Yulou, in his black Taoist robes, brushed his sleeves with an air of ethereal grace and shouted, "Get him!"

Suddenly, an array of techniques, bullets, and crossbow bolts rained down like a meteor shower, firing at full power toward the Death Worm.

Looking closely: eight massive Sanqing Zhurong fireballs surged with scorching heat; several poisoned, specially crafted sniper rounds whistled through the air, inflicting grave wounds; three high-tech explosive demon-hunting arrows tore through the air with pinpoint accuracy. These long-range attacks were unleashed as if they cost nothing.

The close-quarters scene in the desert depths was equally lively! With a *whoosh*, Gu Mo, covered in green ghostly fire, dashed toward the belly of the Death Worm. Several muffled thuds echoed as Gu Mo, wielding his Measure-the-Heaven Ruler—also engulfed in ghostly flames—lashed out at the crimson flesh of the monster. In the blink of an eye, the bloated body of the Death Worm began to fester, blood flowing like a river.

*Roar!*

A series of wails that shook the heavens erupted! Gu Mo, burning with green light, formed a sharp contrast with the blood-red, murderous aura of Yu Kongcheng. The two, one above and one below, attacked the Death Worm with a near-demonic intensity.

*Roar!*

The Death Worm, which had been so arrogant just moments before, was instantly beaten into a state of lacerations and countless holes! Suffering heavy injuries all over, the creature felt such intense agony that it regretted ever existing!

In an instant, the gargantuan, terrifying Death Worm began to look for an opportunity to flee amidst its wails. As for why it didn't dodge... it had to be able to react first! Forget the Death Worm; even the blood moon in the sky hadn't reacted in time.

A gust of wind blew, followed by a muffled *thud*. The wildly thrashing Death Worm was actually sent into the air. Yu Kongcheng, caught up in the slaughter, had a second thought and used his reason to suppress the killing intent in his heart.

A black shadow flashed through the night as the werewolf Yu Kongcheng leaped toward Gu Mo.

*Whoosh!*

As Gu Mo stopped his attack, an exceptionally brawny bloodthirsty werewolf appeared before him. The ferocious face, the glowing red wolf eyes, the sharp fangs, and the blood-stained fur instantly made Gu Mo’s heart skip a beat and his body shudder.

"Holy crap!"

With a roar, a muffled *thud* followed. A massive wave of yellow sand, like a tsunami, surged toward the two of them!
