After writing for quite some time, the book is finally being released for premium subscription.

The number of followers and recommendations has been quite modest, much as I expected—perhaps even a little better than I dared to hope. I am a person easily satisfied; the fact that you all are reading my work and casting your votes is already a source of great happiness for me.

I would like to take this opportunity to share a few words. To be honest, this book was conceived on a whim; I simply had the urge to tell this kind of story, and so I began to write. Fortunately, since it is structured as an episodic narrative, I have plenty of time to refine the main plot and flesh out the world-building, which prevents me from hitting a wall mid-story.

I had written nearly 300,000 words, and only when the plot had become reasonably clear did I consult my editor about the launch. Originally, I planned to go live on the first of next month to build up a buffer of drafts for a big release. However, my editor suggested launching this Friday. I figured that, given my current following, a massive release wouldn’t change my results much, so I readily agreed.

Now, let’s talk about the reward system. I am a rather lazy person, but since the book is now on a paid track, I carry the trust of my readers. Therefore, I will strive to maintain a daily update of 6,000 words. On top of that, for every 100 monthly tickets, I will add an extra chapter. For every 100 yuan in tips, I will also add a chapter, and for every 500 recommendation votes, I will add another. As for subscriptions, I will add a chapter for every 100 increase in the average subscription count.

I am not very familiar with these systems; it was friends who told me I should set them up. I’ll likely adjust these goals each month. If I remain silent on the matter, it simply means I haven't worked hard enough and have achieved nothing worth updating the goals for.

In any case, I will take things as they come and move forward one step at a time.
