Chapter Twenty: A Secret Bloodbath (Bonus Chapter for Reaching One Hundred)
The atmosphere inside the command room was tense. On the screen, a distinct radar signal was streaking through the atmosphere toward the ground, drawing everyone’s attention to this unusual situation. The departure of Tetsuya caused little ripple among the Victory Team; only Captain Hina showed a hint of regret for a short while, but the others seemed unaffected.
“Where is the predicted landing site of this unidentified flying object?” Hina asked, keeping her eyes on the radar signal.
“Based on its current trajectory, the expected landing site is near Kashima Beach,” Norio quickly calculated the point of impact.
“I remember there’s equipment from the Space Development Bureau there,” Lina said, glancing over with a hint of hesitation.
“That’s right! The area houses a high-purity energy reserve base, built for interstellar carrier rockets for the next century,” Inoue added, clearly more knowledgeable in this field.
“Issue the evacuation alert!” Hina ordered. “Victory Team, move out!”
“Understood!”
Lina, Inoue, and Munakata immediately headed to the hangar to board the Swallow No. 2, while Norio quickly contacted the Space Development Bureau to inform them of the situation.
As the Victory Team was en route to the target location, the object plunged into the sea at full speed without slowing, causing a colossal tsunami that swept toward the shore, destroying roads and all facilities near the beach.
The shockwave reached the Space Development Bureau, shaking everyone off their feet. Several staff members clung to the windows, utterly stunned as they watched a silver-gray monster rise from the waters.
Fear took hold, and the people scattered, screaming and running as if desperate not to fall behind.
The enormous beast lumbered ashore from the sea, waving its scythe-like arms as it stepped onto land. At that moment, both Victory Swallow No. 1 and No. 2 were already swooping toward the monster.
A new battle was about to begin.
Meanwhile, in a factory elsewhere, a covert struggle was unfolding. The factory was sealed off, making it impossible for light from outside to penetrate. The environment was exceedingly dim, the huge machine tools and facilities within covered in dust and grime, as if they hadn’t been cleaned in ages—evidence that this factory had long been abandoned.
“Captain!” A man in a black, rigid uniform saluted Tetsuya, announcing, “The remaining Kirielodeans are probably hiding inside the factory!”
Tetsuya stopped spinning the fan-shaped puzzle, slipped it into his pocket, and said coldly, “Eliminate any creature you encounter—no exceptions.”
With that, he took the lead entering the factory. Behind him, a squad clad in black uniforms and armed with standard weapons jumped down, moving in perfect order and covering one another as they began their search inside.
“Who are you? Why are you here?” Ahead, in a shadowy corner, a woman in a suit looked at the group with fear in her voice.
The team hesitated, looking back at Tetsuya.
He sneered, pulling out a piece of chewing gum and popping it into his mouth. Without a hint of hesitation, he raised his laser gun and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
As the laser fired, the woman’s form began to shift, transforming into a humanoid figure of blue light, attempting to dodge.
“Fire!”
Lasers blazed from every direction, forming a barrage that enveloped her. With a dull thud, the blue-light figure collapsed to the ground, gradually revealing itself as the gray-and-black Kirielodean.
“Continue…” Tetsuya didn’t spare a glance, issuing his command without emotion.
As the search continued, more and more Kirielodeans were flushed out and killed by the team.
Tetsuya tallied the number of kills, letting out a cold snort. “One got away.”
A team member hesitated, asking, “Captain… No one knows how many Kirielodeans are hiding here…”
Tetsuya pulled out his smart computer, tapped a few commands, and a city satellite map appeared, with a red dot moving across it.
He tossed the device into the soldier’s hands, fixing him with a cold stare. “After it! Not one must escape!”
When night fell, the city seemed to radiate a different allure. The vibrant nightlife was just beginning, neon lights painting the streets with colors that enchanted those lost in the urban night.
But where there is light, there must also be darkness.
In a pitch-black alley, a stumbling man broke the tranquility. His fleeing footsteps echoed clearly in the shadows. Suddenly, he seemed to hear something, stopping to listen intently, panic flashing across his face before he hurried to escape.
At the end of the alley, a glaring beam shone through, revealing the black-uniformed figure waiting there, the barrel of his gun aimed directly at him.
The man’s frantic steps halted, about to turn back, but the team had already surrounded the alley, slowly closing in toward the center, tightening the circle.
“Despicable Earthlings!” Realizing escape was impossible, the man gritted his teeth and lunged forward. “I’ll fight you to the death!”
A gap opened among the team, and Tetsuya stepped out. Facing the man’s desperate assault, a flash of savagery appeared in his eyes. He struck the man’s face with a fierce punch, sending him sprawling to the ground.
The man’s pale face pressed hard against the pavement, and Tetsuya, stepping on his head, pulled out a white handkerchief and wiped his hands.
“Kirielodean, long time no see…”
“Damn you, Earthling… If not for that traitorous scoundrel…” The Kirielodean forced his head up, glaring at the man pinning him.
“Is that so?” Tetsuya bent closer, his gaze burning, a cold smile on his lips. “Such complaints are the privilege of the weak… Take them to hell and indulge yourself!”
Without waiting for a response, Tetsuya pulled the trigger, a beam piercing the Kirielodean’s heart. The creature grunted, then lay still—life extinguished.
Tetsuya looked around at his team, nodded curtly, ignoring the fallen Kirielodean. “Withdraw! Notify the cleanup squad.”
The black-clad group melted once more into the darkness, leaving the scene with the efficiency of seasoned hunters.
“How’s it going… I know you established the Hunter Organization, so here’s a gift for you!” Tetsuya, at the rear, answered his phone. Masaki Keigo’s voice came through.
“Hmph… Spare me your kindness. Don’t think I don’t know—this time I cleaned up your mess. But next time, don’t count on it!” Tetsuya replied coldly, and added, “You useless fool… Your plan is riddled with holes!”
Masaki’s breathing quickened, but he held back from cursing, simply slamming the phone down.
Looking up, Masaki saw a crucial piece in his plan—the enormous electronic shark, Geo-Zak—undergoing its final maintenance and outfitting.
“My era is about to begin!”
