Chapter 11: The Violent S
In a tranquil park, in front of a small beverage stand, Jin looked helplessly at K, who wore a look of utter despair and collapse, and asked with curiosity:
"What? Are you unhappy that I dragged you out during your break?"
"Hmph."
K lounged in a thoroughly lazy posture and said, "Not really. Although it wasn't an official assignment from headquarters, it's not a big deal for agents to handle alien incidents on their own during their off-time. We just need to submit a report to headquarters after it's over."
"It's just that, you know, when I was in contact with S, I let slip about this matter. To my surprise, she sent a message saying that she has also been investigating this incident privately and therefore wants to join forces with us."
"S?" Jin asked. "Then why the look?"
K's mouth twitched as he said helplessly, "Do you know what kind of person Agent 'S' is?"
"No."
"Ah, sheer ignorance." K sighed towards the sky, then straightened his posture and said:
"Listen, according to rumors I've heard with my own ears, S is the absolute strongest super martial arts king among all the agents!"
"You've got to be kidding."
"Hey, of course not! That's why her codename is S!"
"But wouldn't M be more fitting? M for Max!" Jin pondered and said.
"S-M, huh?" K leaned back against the chair, rubbed his chin, and said, "That's rather subtle."
With that, the two men exchanged knowing, profound smiles.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," a soft female voice came over. A stunning waitress brought over their drinks and placed them in front of the two men.
"Coffee and premium pudding."
"Oh-oh! My pudding has arrived~" K rubbed his hands together in excitement, quickly pulled the pudding toward himself, picked up a spoon, and took a blissful bite. An expression of sheer joy, almost like a "young maiden," bloomed across his face.
"Have we seen that waitress somewhere before?"
The waitress looked vaguely familiar. Jin looked up, but upon seeing the expression on K's face, for some reason, he felt a sudden urge to gag.
"Talk about a grown man eating pudding."
K glared at him and shouted, "There's no rule saying men can't eat pudding!"
Jin was practically on the verge of fainting, and said helplessly, "Then you don't have to make an expression like a creepy otaku. It's truly shameful."
"You brat—" K glared at Jin with dissatisfaction.
"Alright, alright, eat your pudding. Continue talking about that S."
"Hmph~"
"If my prediction is correct, S definitely sports a Mohawk! She wears a single-shouldered tank top on one side and has a dragon tattooed on the other!"
K held his spoon, gesturing against his body as he described what he imagined S looked like.
This description nearly made Jin spit out his coffee. He quickly said, "Wait a minute, have you never met S?"
K shook his head and said, "We agents frequently communicate online, but we almost never meet in person in private, except for our respective partners. I only know that S's former partner was called 'D', but D was killed in action, and now she seems to complete missions entirely on her own. I just chat with S online occasionally. Then, when I mentioned the data you sent me, S expressed that she was also keeping an eye on this matter and wanted to team up with us, so she arranged for us to meet here."
"Hey, tell me, do you think my guess is right? S must look just like that—bulging muscles all over, with a fierce and vicious look."
"What if S is a woman?" Jin's mouth twitched as he offered a feeble rebuttal.
"No way."
"Snatcher! Thief!"
A sharp female voice suddenly rang out nearby. Jin and K turned their heads almost instinctively to see a man in a green shirt holding a black women's handbag, fleeing in a rush along the street. Not far behind him, the victimized woman cried out anxiously, trying to chase after him, but she was severely hindered by her high heels.
Just as the man reached the street corner, however, a serving tray came flying through the air and struck him squarely in the back, sending the bag snatcher crashing to the ground.
The waitress who had served drinks to K and Jin walked over. It was her tray that had accurately struck the bag snatcher.
"Wretched woman," the snatcher growled as he climbed up from the ground.
Before he could take two steps toward her, the waitress suddenly spun around, pivoting on her left foot as her right foot whipped high through the air, landing a direct kick straight to the snatcher's chin and cleanly knocking him flat onto the pavement.
K watched in absolute shock and couldn't help crying out, "Amazing! That is amazing!!!"
The next moment, however, the waitress bent down, grabbed the snatcher by the collar, dragged him right in front of K and Jin, and glared at K with murderous intent.
"Who did you just say had a Mohawk!?"
"And S-M?"
"Uh—" Poor K hadn't even reacted yet, his eyes wide with astonishment.
Immediately following that, the waitress delivered a flying kick—
Landing squarely in the groin.
"Ah, what a woman simply brimming with violent cells."
The three of them sat facing one another. K kept an expression of excruciating agony, clutching his groin. He couldn't even bring himself to eat his beloved pudding, perfectly embodying someone enduring immense, crushing pain.
True to the saying that it's better for a teammate to die than for oneself to suffer, Jin remained entirely unfazed, simply looking at S with curiosity.
S was a woman—something none of them had anticipated—and furthermore, she was a strikingly attractive one. Her unadorned face was graced with delicate facial features, and the slight smile blooming on her lips resembled a wild flower blossoming in the mountains, carrying a touch of untamed ferocity.
"It was you who passed me the note at the Delphi Club, wasn't it?"
Hearing this, S smiled. "I'm an 'under-cover' agent specifically responsible for infiltration operations. That kind of thing is a piece of cake for me."
With that, she looked at the shattered-looking Agent K. "Crushed or intact? If they're not crushed, let's get moving. We need to head to the rendezvous point and discuss the situation regarding this incident."
"Cough... I—tss..." K clutched his crotch and forced himself to stand up.
"I'm fine."
S stood up, untied her apron, exchanged a few words with the beverage shop owner, and walked out.
"Alright, let's set off."
Without an ounce of hesitation, she took the lead and walked ahead. Jin followed immediately behind, while K tested taking a few steps, hissing through his breath as he trailed slowly behind them.
"Is K really going to be alright like this?"
Jin felt that as K's partner, he still needed to consider K's condition. If his lower anatomy were to suffer permanent damage... well, that would truly be an injustice to future Mrs. K.
S nodded and said, "I only used fifty percent of my strength. Rest assured, they aren't crushed."
As she spoke, she glanced back at K, who was walking hunched over, and said, "Useless man. Are you falling apart just from this?"
K was naturally a rather chauvinistic person—or rather, Japanese people generally held strongly chauvinistic ideas—so there was no way he could admit in front of a woman that he couldn't cut it.
Huffing and puffing as he caught up, K wore a constipated expression and wheezed, "I—tss... I'm fine."
"Well, looking good." S turned her head toward Jin and flashed a gentle smile.
Yet, it was hard for anyone to imagine that this soft-looking, delicate woman could be so overwhelmingly fierce.
Jin's mouth twitched, and with a helpless sigh, he supported K as they followed along.
