Chapter 130: Coincidence (3)
Under ordinary circumstances, Ye Lanyu wouldn’t care about others; she would have continued to unleash her magic, determined to blast open the room!
Fortunately, at that moment, the Seventh Princess called out, “Ye Lanyu, if you break this house, the people inside will get hurt!!”
“I don’t care if they get hurt… Ah, no, if my brother really is inside, I can’t hurt him!” Ye Lanyu stopped her magic immediately, and the spell vanished from around her.
Thankfully, she still had this weakness; otherwise, no one would have any way to deal with her!
“Good that you understand. Don’t act recklessly next time!” everyone said, still shaken.
“I’m not acting recklessly. Then tell me, what should we do now? How do we open this door?” Ye Lanyu said, clearly dissatisfied.
“Well…” Everyone hesitated. None of them were familiar with alchemy, and only one person here had any expertise—
All eyes turned to Zhen Xiaoyan!
“Why are you all looking at me? You have no solutions, so how would I know?” The female warrior seemed to misunderstand their intent, thinking they were looking to her for ideas. She had forgotten that the girl she had captured was an alchemy expert.
Zhen Xiaoyan thought for a moment, then said one word: “Wait!”
“Wait?! Do you mean we have to stay here and wait for them to finish?” Ye Lanyu asked.
Zhen Xiaoyan nodded slowly. “Yes! Just wait! We have no other way. If Ye Lang were here, he could break down this door quickly without hurting those inside, but we can’t!”
Ye Lanyu stopped asking. She understood Zhen Xiaoyan’s meaning: to break it quickly would risk harming those inside, so that was off the table.
If they waited long enough, those inside would come out on their own, making force unnecessary.
But how long would they have to wait?
A day or two would be acceptable, but if it dragged on longer, that wouldn’t do; they’d need to find a way to open it.
“Miss, could you release her so she can open the door? I can take her place as a hostage,” the Seventh Princess said to the female warrior.
“No. With your abilities, Seventh Princess, I can’t control myself!” The female warrior knew well the strength of Ye Lanyu and the others, and naturally understood the Seventh Princess’s power too. She knew that holding the Seventh Princess captive would likely result in her being hurt by magic.
“I won’t resist. I know you won’t harm us,” the Seventh Princess said calmly, her confidence apparent as she looked at the warrior.
“How do you know I won’t hurt you? If pushed too far, I’m capable of anything!” The female warrior replied coldly.
“That I do not doubt. But if we help you, you won’t do that,” the Seventh Princess replied gently.
The female warrior fell silent, seemingly considering the proposition. Perhaps she should agree to a temporary hostage exchange, or even trust the Seventh Princess enough to release Zhen Xiaoyan, believing they would help her find the young master.
But soon, an event occurred that made her decision unnecessary…
The door suddenly opened!!
Everyone had been uncertain how long they would need to wait and had been trying to find a way to open it. Yet, at this very moment, the door swung open!
However, although the door opened, no one emerged. In this situation, such a development naturally stunned everyone for a moment, leaving them frozen in place.
After a brief pause, Ye Lanyu was the first to run inside. As others prepared to follow, a familiar voice echoed from within…
“It’s a woman? How did I win again?!”
The voice held no joy of victory; rather, it was tinged with displeasure. It was the voice of the young master—the only one who would be so unhappy about winning!
Not only was this the young master of the female warrior, but also the young master of Ye Lanyu and the others: Ye Lang!
Ye Lanyu and the others saw Ye Lang sitting at a table, wearing a bitter smile—a smile of reluctant victory. Opposite him was a man in his thirties, the King of Gaofei, whose face showed utter despair. Neither seemed pleased with the outcome.
What on earth was going on?
Ye Lanyu and the others couldn’t make sense of it. Everyone was eager to find out the truth!
“Why is it like this? Why is it a woman? How could a woman be in my house?” The man in his thirties, the King of Gaofei, muttered, unwilling to accept the situation.
“Yes, it should have been a man! Ah, such is life—anything is possible. Well, now that it’s come to this, you can pack up and leave. No need to see you off!” Ye Lang waved his hand, signaling that the visitor was being shown out.
Strangely, he said “see you off”? He should be the guest—how could he be the one sending someone off?
If anyone were to be seen off, it should be the King of Gaofei!
No one paid attention to this contradiction, as all eyes were fixed on Ye Lang, stunned until they confirmed it was really him before they snapped back to reality.
Ye Lang’s presence was a complete surprise; it was almost unbelievable!
What irritated them further was that Ye Lang seemed completely unaware of their presence…
Without hesitation, Ye Lanyu rushed to Ye Lang’s side, but Ye Lang was fixated on the King of Gaofei, wearing a bitter, troubled smile, apparently oblivious to Ye Lanyu.
“You little brat!!” Ye Lanyu gritted her teeth and snapped.
Ye Lang responded as if it was nothing unusual, “What? I’m working… Huh? Sis, what are you doing here?”
Sure enough, he hadn’t noticed any of them!
“You scatterbrain—you saw me just now, didn’t you? How could you ignore such a youthful and beautiful sister like me!” Ye Lanyu tugged sharply at Ye Lang’s ear.
“Ouch, that hurts. I did see a woman earlier, but I only looked to see if it was a man or woman. I wasn’t paying attention to anything else…” Ye Lang said sheepishly, but soon fell silent.
Because after Ye Lanyu pulled him up, she hugged him tightly, as if afraid that letting go would make her lose the most precious thing.
“Sis…” After a long while, Ye Lang softly reminded her.
“What? I’m holding you. You disappeared on me for so long, after all!” Ye Lanyu understood what Ye Lang was trying to say, but still refused to let go.
“Xiaoyu, you can’t just focus on yourself—you have to let Mom hug you too!” Long Anqi stepped forward, pulling Ye Lang into her arms and holding him close.
“…”
