Ye Lanyu and the others were all wondering how there could be someone else in this world so much like Ye Lang. Truly, the world was full of wonders!

Yet the female warrior’s next words made them feel that this eldest young master had practically been carved from the same mold as Ye Lang.

“As for any distinguishing features, I’d say he’s a little absentminded. He often seems dazed and confused.”

“What’s his name? What does he look like? Is he about this tall, and does he...?”

In an instant, Ye Lanyu and the others began firing questions at her, their voices tense yet tinged with excitement. Unfortunately, everyone asked about something different, creating such a commotion that the female warrior could not make out a single word.

“I don’t know his name yet. He may still be running away from home and is afraid his family will find him, so he hasn’t told us anything. That’s why we’ve always called him the eldest young master,” the female warrior replied.

“You don’t know? In other words, you aren’t his guard or family retainer, and he isn’t the young master of your household?” the Seventh Princess immediately asked. This point had to be clarified; it was crucial to determining his identity.

If the eldest young master had a guard and retainer like this female warrior, then he could not possibly be Ye Lang. No one here knew who accompanied Ye Lang, and they had never seen this female warrior before.

“No. I’m not a guard or family retainer. I’m the leader of a small mercenary squad! We met the eldest young master on the road. I promised to escort him to Fire Dragon City, so no matter what price I have to pay, I’ll make sure he gets there safely!” the female warrior said through clenched teeth, making it clear how determined she was to save him.

Her words left everyone momentarily speechless. They were deeply impressed by her actions. To honor a promise, she had dared to enter this “royal palace” alone to rescue someone.

Although this “royal palace” was rather small and did not have many people defending it, it was still a dangerous place for a mercenary like her.

She was even willing to offend Ye Chengtian and the others in order to save him. That made the value of her promise all the more evident!

However, the Seventh Princess was not concerned with the female warrior’s promise at the moment. Her attention remained fixed on the eldest young master she had mentioned.

“Where did you meet him? And when?”

“It was more than twenty days ago, in Mivila City. At the time...” the female warrior began.

What she described seemed to match Ye Lang’s circumstances perfectly. Ye Lang had indeed met Sister Mandy in Mivila City and then traveled with her toward Fire Dragon City.

This also seemed to be one of the roads leading from there to Fire Dragon City.

But logically speaking, Ye Lang and Sister Mandy should have been far behind them. How had they ended up ahead, arriving more than a day before Ye Lanyu and the others?

One must not forget that the eldest young master inside had already been gambling with King Gao Fei two days ago. That meant he had been here for at least two days, whereas Ye Lanyu and the others had only arrived yesterday.

Therefore, no matter how one looked at it, the person inside should not have been Ye Lang and Sister Mandy.

If it really was them, then an absurd number of coincidences would have had to occur. Their route would first have had to pass through this place. Then they would have had to arrive early. And, by sheer chance, Ye Lang would also have had to be “captured” by King Gao Fei.

Though, come to think of it, Ye Lang being captured by someone could hardly be called a coincidence. He seemed to run into that sort of thing all the time!

In any case, Ye Lanyu and the others did not know what had happened back then. They had no idea that Ye Lang had gotten lost and wandered in the opposite direction.

Thus, the Seventh Princess said with some disappointment, “Mivila City is in another direction. It probably isn’t him.”

“Maybe it is! Ye Lang is so absentminded that he could easily have gone the wrong way!” Zhen Xiaoyan said. She had a feeling that this eldest young master was Ye Lang, so much so that she forgot she was still being held hostage.

“That is possible. But no matter how confused he is, he shouldn’t have run in the exact opposite direction!” Ye Lanyu said. She still had a fair amount of confidence in Ye Lang—well, at least in that particular respect.

“At most, he might have ended up near Aila...”

“...”

That was not much better!

“So you both think that the eldest young master inside might actually be our eldest young master?” the Seventh Princess asked, looking at the two of them.

“Mm-hmm!”

Ye Lanyu and Zhen Xiaoyan nodded. Ye Lanyu had nothing to worry about, but Zhen Xiaoyan still had a blade at her throat. How had she dared to nod? Fortunately, the female warrior had excellent reflexes and did not injure her.

“Then there’s only one question left. Do you think our young master knows how to gamble?” the Seventh Princess asked.

“No!” they replied in unison.

It was not just the two of them. Everyone present from the Sky Soaring Empire knew that Ye Lang was utterly incapable of gambling. He loved to gamble, certainly, but only when he was throwing money away recklessly.

“In other words, from childhood until now, he has only ever thrown his money into bets that were guaranteed to lose. He gambled solely to squander his money and has absolutely no gambling skill whatsoever,” the Seventh Princess said.

“That’s true, but really, how could there be someone in the world so similar to him—someone who loves wasting money and is just as absentminded...” Ye Lanyu muttered before suddenly raising her voice.

“Forget it! We’ll just go in and drag him out. Then we’ll know at once whether he’s our little brother or not!”

That was the key point. Why keep guessing blindly? They could simply reveal the answer themselves!

In any event, everyone now wanted the young man inside to come out, whether for Zhen Xiaoyan’s safety or to discover the truth.

There was just one problem.

“We can’t open the door. There’s no way!”

The room inside could not be opened from the outside. They could only force their way in, but that seemed a little excessive. The people inside were gamblers, after all, and gambling was the most important thing in the world to them. They hated being disturbed.

But Zhen Xiaoyan being held hostage could hardly be considered a minor matter. Ye Lanyu was therefore the first to act.

Ice crystals appeared in Ye Lanyu’s hand, and an ice arrow slammed into the door. The deafening impact startled everyone. No one had expected her to act so decisively.

“Miss Lanyu, it won’t work. This room has been reinforced with several alchemical arrays. A spell like that won’t have any effect. You’ll need advanced magic...” Zhen Xiaoyan began.

But as she spoke, her expression changed. She knew that Ye Lanyu might—

“Don’t! Xiaoyu, are you trying to kill us?”

“Ye Lanyu...”

“Damn!”

A chorus of cries rang out, because Ye Lanyu had actually begun condensing an advanced spell. Its power was enough to flatten the entire house.
