Staring at the statue shimmering with divine light, Zhang Kai wore a satisfied expression. This was the proper way to do things. These ancient gods, having remained dormant for so long, needed something to occupy themselves—it was good for their spiritual health.

As the divine radiance appeared, the strange beasts materializing from the mist seemed to be suppressed by some force, swiftly retreating. In an instant, the space became empty, as if nothing existed there.

Zhang Kai turned and left.

Outside, Brother Wang was still waiting eagerly.

Zhang Kai said, “There are some particular circumstances inside; a statue appeared, likely belonging to the Nuwa clan.”

Nuwa clan? A sage!

Brother Wang’s eyes lit up, and he asked excitedly, “Is it a deity?”

Zhang Kai replied, “It should be. Most likely it’s suppressing some evil presence here. Brother Wang, you aren’t planning to mess with descendants of Nuwa, are you?”

Brother Wang hurriedly shook his head. “Absolutely not.”

He sighed with regret.

No matter what, the name Nuwa was terrifying. No one wanted to provoke her; everyone would rather curry favor.

“There’s no need to bother with this place. Let’s explore elsewhere. The underground space is vast, plenty of areas to work with,” Zhang Kai nodded.

“We’ll follow your lead,” Brother Wang said, instructing the exploration team to search elsewhere.

Truthfully, this underground space was enormous, like interconnected caverns, with many areas showing signs of artificial construction. The scale was vast; it was a mystery how it had been built.

They pressed on.

The next day, a piece of news shocked the entire development team.

A tomb had been discovered.

And the tomb was frightening.

Upon hearing the news, Zhang Kai joined the team to investigate.

They had penetrated at least three or four miles into the underground space. Here, the sinister aura was heavier.

According to satellite positioning, this was beneath the main body of Yin Mountain.

When they arrived at the site of the tomb, Zhang Kai was stunned.

It wasn’t the tomb’s craftsmanship that struck him, but its abundance.

Before a section of mountain wall stood three archways, each made of bronze, four to five meters tall. How they were brought in remained a mystery.

Outside each archway stood a guardian beast.

One was a white jade lion.

One was a pair of dragons.

And the last was, astonishingly, two statues.

The statues bore fierce expressions, clad in armor; one held a bronze hammer, the other a treasured sword.

Seeing the three archways, Zhang Kai’s gaze sharpened. “Everyone, stay back. The gates of the tomb are steeped in resentment.”

Hearing this, the group scrambled backward, fearful of contamination.

“Kai, what’s the nature of this resentment?” a young woman from the team asked nervously.

Zhang Kai explained, “Resentment comes in many forms, each different. But what’s here is especially terrifying—it’s divine resentment. When gods perish, they use their power to cast curses. Once tainted, it’s nearly impossible to cleanse, and disaster is certain.”

So dreadful!

The girl stuck out her tongue, and the others felt their scalps tingling.

It sounded like certain doom.

Especially since they were all ordinary people, utterly powerless to resist.

“What do we do? This must be the main area of the forbidden zone. Only by entering can we reap benefits and exchange them for points with Earth’s Home,” Brother Wang said, frustrated.

Zhang Kai replied, “Brother Wang, you’re mistaken. Even divine resentment can be traded for points.”

Oh!

Everyone’s eyes brightened.

Brother Wang asked in surprise, “How do we trade it?”

Zhang Kai laughed, “Sell it to Earth’s Home. Didn’t they say anything can be leveraged? What they seek is inspiration. Divine resentment is a threat to us, but the Ultraman clan would definitely love to study it.”

“That makes sense, but how do we sell it?”

“I’ll try to contact them,” Zhang Kai said, turning to leave.

Half an hour later, Zhang Kai returned with a smile. “It’s done. The Ultraman clan is interested in divine resentment. They’ll soon come to take over. Everyone, please wait a moment.”

This was an unexpected delight. The entire team beamed with joy.

The investment this time was tremendous. Each person had family and corporate backing. At last, they saw a return, and how could they not be pleased?

Soon, a streak of light flashed out of nowhere, revealing the form of a Bone-Melting Dragon.

With its arrival, streams of light enveloped the area. While everyone couldn’t see clearly, they all thought, as expected, the Ultraman clan—dominant across the universe—had a spectacular entrance.

Unseen by the others, Zhang Kai approached the three archways and collected the surrounding resentment.

In an instant, the resentment from the three gates converged upon him.

Now, the divine resentment on him had increased at least four or fivefold.

At such a level, an ordinary person would choke to death drinking water.

But Zhang Kai was unconcerned.

In fact, he was quite pleased.

With curses this potent, anyone daring to betray him in the future would certainly regret it.

Before long, the Bone-Melting Dragon vanished, and Zhang Kai heard a joyful voice, “I got thirty points!”

“So did I, thirty points!”

Amidst lively discussion, they realized the standard was uniform—thirty points each.

With more than a dozen people, that was hundreds of points.

Moreover, it was humanity’s first time earning points.

Not only had they seized the initiative, but they’d set a precedent, enough to make these few renowned across the world.

With such a promising start, everyone was even more excited and eager for future rewards.

“Alright, the divine resentment is gone. Now, how do we open the gate?” Brother Wang asked, spirited.

“Just break it down by force,” a young man suggested.

“That’s not wise. What if there are traps?”

“What’s there to fear? We’ve made it this far. Whatever comes, we’ll handle it. Technology is king.”

“That’s true. We’ve solved every problem so far. Now that we’re at the door, there’s no reason we can’t get inside.”

“Let’s blast it open,” Brother Wang concluded decisively.

The team moved quickly, setting explosives.

They were experts, and the targeted demolition was precise.

The roar was tremendous, but the structure remained intact.

After the blast, the three archways stood unscathed—not even a scratch.

“Damn, these gates are tough! That was high-powered TNT!” someone exclaimed, incredulous.

“Try something else—laser cutting,” Brother Wang instructed.

Soon, a laser emitter was brought in and fired at the bronze gates.

Under the glaring beam, the gates shimmered with strange waves, and the laser failed to leave even a mark.

Zhang Kai noticed the anomaly and quickly said, “These gates are reinforced by arcane arts. Conventional technological weapons won’t work. We need to break the spell specifically to enter.”

“Arcane arts? What kind? How do we break it?” Brother Wang asked, bewildered—this was uncharted territory.

Zhang Kai laughed, “There’s a simple method. All spells fear impurity, and nothing is more potent than menstrual blood.”

“That’s all? Perfect, I’ll arrange for a purchase immediately. We’ll use menstrual blood to repaint these gates,” Brother Wang declared boldly.
