Chapter 32: Jealousy Unleashed
Ji Feng stood where he was, listening to Shen Lin’s endless complaints, his expression darkening. He understood Pei Yunian’s true identity; if the man were to hear such disparaging remarks, Shen Lin might not even survive until the next day. With a grim face, he hurriedly tugged at Shen Lin’s sleeve, signaling her to be quiet. Shen Lin, however, seemed to miss his point entirely and impatiently brushed him off.
I chose not to engage with that girl, Di'er Qian, at all. I knew that if I said anything to her, she would only become even more insufferable.
Lu Wei watched Liu Gui’s retreating figure. Given the direction he was heading, he was likely going to the elixir department; he must have passed by the mission center, overheard the conversation inside, and stepped in on a whim.
Qin Ting had no idea what the situation was like outside, nor did she have the time to pay attention to the news. She simply kept waiting for word from Wu Xiongming and Zhang Dalong.
"Wang Yuxin? No, he’s back in his hometown on annual leave. Would you like me to call him?" Having mostly grasped Li Yan’s intent, Zhang Xiaojuan offered.
"I'm fine," she replied dully, looking up and struggling to hold back the tears that threatened to spill.
"We already agreed when we signed the soul pact: you aren't doing me a favor for free. Come by tomorrow; you won't be disappointed." Li Yan said this with an unquestionable tone before heading toward his home.
"Since President Ao has an urgent matter to attend to, we will do our best to accommodate," Fang Boyu said. Though he felt a sense of regret, he did not make things difficult for the other party, for he, too, was a man who deeply valued family ties.
Lin Yan let out a hum, too lazy to respond. Ignoring the heartless man, he continued to walk forward.
Only after the intense intimacy, seeing her look of exhaustion and the heavy bags under her eyes, did he feel a sudden pang of heartache.
It was only when leaving the underground passage earlier that he had heard a little bit from Sun Tieshu, who was disguised as the Arm-Armed Ape.
"That's for real!" Tang Hao looked left and right, and seeing no one around, he quickly tucked it away.
Before Broly could react, Helis unleashed hundreds of punches onto his body.
Although they were classified as the highest grade, there were quite a few of them—the Nirvana Sutra, the Longevity Sutra—the names sounded quite intimidating.
"Could this Tang Zeng also be one of those 'evolvers' circulating in rumors lately? But aren't those people supposed to need more food and energy after evolving?" Yuan Qian murmured.
He didn't know how others perceived the attack, but he was acutely aware that even though Son Gohan hadn't transformed beyond a Super Saiyan, the sheer power of his strike could not be ignored.
He knew there was no retreat now; he had been ordered to make an arrest. If he refused to confess, what were they going to do, execute him?
She bowed toward Zao Huazi in gratitude, then tapped her toes, leapt into the air, and returned to the sky.
Lu Hanqiang hurriedly set down his pruning shears and, dressed only in a short shirt and sweat towel, cupped his hands with a smile. "I thought a distinguished guest had arrived, but it turns out to be an old friend. Please, allow me to greet you as family."
In the final moments of his life, he suddenly thought of Lin An and recalled his actions before entering the ancient city; it seemed as if everything had been fated all along.
His soft, slick tongue brushed lightly against her most sensitive spot, causing her to tremble uncontrollably.
As soon as Cheng Jingrao entered the conference room, her attention was solely on her startled son. Only after Jiang Minxiu pointed it out did she notice two parents kneeling on the floor in the open space by the door, their faces streaked with tears, looking at her and her son in a state of bewildered helplessness.
When you one day lift your head from your constant, busy toil and suddenly realize that what you have been desperately chasing is so wretched and pathetic, it is truly the most ironic moment of your life.
