Chapter 11: Training the Dog

Though they had long been divorced, Jiang Yi always mentioned Qin Wan Yi’s name, much to Lin Xiaoxiao’s discontent. Yet, to win Jiang Yi’s favor and successfully erase Qin Wan Yi from his heart, she had no choice but to please him as much as possible.
“Yi Gege, don’t be angry. The most important thing now is for you to take care of your health. Good health is more important than anything else,” Lin Xiaoxiao murmured softly, gently massaging his shoulders and leaning close to whisper in his ear.
“It’s just dealing with a dog, no need for Brother Yi to get his hands dirty,” she teased lightly.
Jiang Yi’s heart stirred at those words. His hand rested on the back of Lin Xiaoxiao’s, gently kneading it.
“Do you have a plan?”
Lin Xiaoxiao nestled against him, her soft body pressing closely into Jiang Yi’s embrace.
“I happen to know some people—elite forces within the city’s underground. Each of them is highly skilled; teaching that dog a lesson would be as easy as crushing an ant.”
Jiang Yi raised an eyebrow, his eyes lighting up instantly. Turning to Lin Xiaoxiao, he eagerly pulled her into his arms. “Really?”
To please him, Lin Xiaoxiao patted her chest confidently, taking on the task.
This solved Jiang Yi’s biggest worry. His earlier gloom vanished, replaced by joy.
He hugged her tightly, lightly pinching her cheek in praise. “Xiaoxiao, you’re the best.”
Her sudden praise made Lin Xiaoxiao’s spirits soar. She feigned shyness, burrowing into his embrace, feeling his strong heartbeat through the fabric.
“I like Brother Yi. As long as it makes you happy, I’m willing to do anything.”
That confession stirred chaos within Jiang Yi’s heart.
Lin Xiaoxiao’s slender fingers trailed along the collar of his shirt, sliding deliberately. “But… you and Qin Wan Yi really are a pair of grudges.”
“Come to think of it, Qin Wan Yi’s behavior is strange. Could it be she was involved with that scoundrel bodyguard from the start?” Lin Xiaoxiao feigned surprise, sneaking glances at Jiang Yi’s expression.
Jiang Yi’s brows furrowed tightly but he remained silent.
Seems the fire isn’t burning enough. Time to add more fuel.
“Brother Yi, I’m straightforward, don’t be upset. We’re all adults here. You’re often away from home, and anyone would find it hard to endure—man or woman.”
“Who knows if, when you’re not home, she secretly finds someone to ease her frustration,” Lin Xiaoxiao’s eyes darted mischievously as she deliberately sowed confusion.
Jiang Yi’s face turned pale as he slammed his fist on the sofa. “She dares!”
He had completely forgotten that he and Qin Wan Yi were divorced. Though Zhen had accepted the divorce, his heart still clung to Qin Wan Yi.

Seeing Lin Xiaoxiao’s frightened expression, Jiang Yi’s heart ached. A tear slipped from her eye, painting a pitiful picture that instantly stoked his sympathy.
He drew her back into his arms, gently patting her back. “Sorry, I wasn’t angry at you.”
She nodded gently, wiping away the tear secretly and feigning a choked voice. “I’m just standing up for Brother Yi.”
“Qin Wan Yi used such despicable means to force Brother Yi to stay with her and claim her place—yet she’s still not satisfied.”
Lin Xiaoxiao’s voice trembled with grievance. She insisted that Qin Wan Yi must have been involved with that scoundrel long ago; otherwise, why else would she have sent that man to beat Jiang Yi?
“If she truly cared for you, how could she repeatedly let that scoundrel hurt you?”
She reached out to rub his wound, and seeing his tightened features from the pain, tears of sympathy fell from her eyes.
Her words stirred something in Jiang Yi.
His mind replayed everything Qin Wan Yi had done to him recently, fueling his anger.
Combined with Lin Xiaoxiao’s suspicions, everything seemed to add up.
“Damn it!” He kicked over the glass coffee table, shattering it instantly.
Glass exploded.
“Ah!” Lin Xiaoxiao was frightened and immediately shrank into Jiang Yi’s arms.
“Never thought that bitch Qin Wan Yi could stoop this low. She hasn’t been home much, and yet in such a short time, she’s already unable to contain her loneliness and is messing around with that dog.”
Though she usually appeared pure and untouchable, it was all a facade.
Listening to Jiang Yi’s curses against Qin Wan Yi, Lin Xiaoxiao’s heart swelled with pride.
Qin Wan Yi, just wait. Soon, Jiang Yi will completely erase you from his heart!
Jiang Yi can only belong to me, Lin Xiaoxiao!
“Brother Yi, calm down. I’ll take care of it for you right now. I’ll make some calls and have them teach that dog a lesson.”
Lin Xiaoxiao gently traced his chest with her fingers.
Jiang Yi’s anger faded instantly. When he looked at her, his eyes were soft as water. He squeezed her hand gratefully.
“Xiaoxiao, you are truly the best to me.”
Just from those words, Lin Xiaoxiao felt renewed vigor.

She then called the underground contacts.
“Big Brother, I know you’re all formidable. I want you to help me deal with someone. Just leave them alive—barely.”
Luo Jun crossed his legs, instantly delighted at the job. “No problem. As long as the funds are ready, even a limb of his would be easy to take.”
“Money’s no issue. Deal with him harshly, but don’t kill. I’ll send you his photo and name soon.”
After hanging up, Lin Xiaoxiao sent Pei Yinian’s photo and name, along with a payment.
She requested a photo after the deed was done, then promised to pay the remainder.
Luo Jun, legs crossed, stared at the photo and name on his phone, falling off his chair in shock.
He widened his eyes in disbelief. “Wow, this woman’s really fearless!”
He swallowed nervously, trembling as he called Pei Yinian.
“Hello?” The man’s voice was cold, clearly displeased.
Luo Jun hurriedly explained Lin Xiaoxiao’s request. “How do you want to handle this?”
Sweat beaded on Luo Jun’s forehead. Though he led the city’s gray market, he was still just a hired hand.
The real boss was someone else.
Pei Yinian sneered, “If she wants to play, let’s play with her.”
His cold voice issued orders to Luo Jun.
The next day, Lin Xiaoxiao drove out as usual when a car suddenly began tailing her aggressively.
Frightened, she pressed the accelerator, and the car behind did the same.
Just as a collision seemed imminent, the car slowed.
What was going on?
Before she could catch her breath, the car behind sped up again, nearly crashing, then slammed on the brakes.
This repeated over and over, leaving Lin Xiaoxiao’s legs weak and cold sweat breaking out all over her body.
