【Wind Blade】
【Type: Active Skill】
【Rank: Beginner】
【Element: Wind】
【Cost: 30 Mana】
【Casting Time: 1 second】
【Cooldown: None】
【Effect: Summons a blade of wind to attack a distant enemy.】
The skill was utterly ordinary.
It was the foundation of every mage’s wind-element spell, much like Fireball.
The only advantage Wind Blade had over Fireball was that it was invisible and traveled at astonishing speed, making it extremely difficult for its target to evade. Its casting time was also exceptionally short, requiring only one second.
In exchange, however, its damage was only about half that of a single Fireball.
Every elemental branch of a mage’s skills had its own distinct characteristics.
Wind clearly followed a path of agility, speed, and decisiveness.
Fire, on the other hand, pursued the most brutal and overwhelming offensive power.
Of course, in Lin Yi’s hands, it would only take a few days for this Wind Blade to become devastatingly powerful once it reached the higher ranks…
A seventh-rank Skyflame Dragon Breath could already cause destruction on such a scale.
Then just how terrifying would eighth-rank spells be, let alone ninth-rank forbidden spells? The mere thought filled Lin Yi with boundless motivation!
He was now even more determined to upgrade his Skyflame Dragon Breath to a ninth-rank forbidden spell as quickly as possible!
Lin Yi looked around and discovered that there were no longer any signs of monsters moving nearby.
Night had fallen. After burning all the trees to ash, the dragon’s flames had gradually died out.
A hooked moon hung high in the sky.
Without the trees to shelter him, the night wind felt cold and biting, chilling Lin Yi to the bone.
Then, quite by accident, Lin Yi noticed something that left him utterly astonished.
His level had risen to thirty without him even realizing it!
In the span of a single day, his level had rocketed all the way to the limit of the first advancement!
At level thirty, he could already go to Jiang City’s Advancement Sanctuary and accept the quest for his second class advancement!
That last Skyflame Dragon Breath had evidently caused far more casualties than he had estimated.
Lin Yi pulled up his experience records.

After reaching level thirty, all the experience he gained had become zero points. It had all turned into surplus experience.
Without completing the advancement quest and unlocking his second advancement, he had no way to continue leveling.
There was therefore no reason to remain here.
The monsters in the Wailing Forest were no longer capable of providing him with much experience.
Lin Yi took a scroll glowing with a faint violet light from his portable space.
It was the Return Scroll Jiang Ya had given him earlier. The coordinates marked on it were those of Jiang City’s teleportation hall.
It was already late. His parents were probably waiting at home for him to return for dinner.
Not wanting them to worry, Lin Yi decided to go straight home.
But just as he was about to crush the scroll and teleport away, a tiny patch of emerald-green light, glowing like fireflies in the darkness beside him, suddenly caught his attention.
Lin Yi raised a hand.
The Molten Flame Demons he had just dismissed and sent back to the Fire Elemental Plane appeared once more.
Summoning spells of this kind were actually duration-based contract spells. A single casting could maintain them for an entire day.
During that time, Lin Yi, as their summoner, could send the two demons back to the elemental plane whenever he wished, allowing them to rest before calling them out again.
There was no need to summon them anew.
With the towering, flame-wreathed giant at his side, Lin Yi pointed toward the place where the emerald light had flickered. The Molten Flame Demon obediently moved in that direction.
It was like having a gigantic lightbulb leading the way.
With the demon illuminating the darkness, Lin Yi quickly discovered the source of the emerald glow.
It was none other than the depths of the cavern from which the Windmarked Tiger King had emerged earlier!
With the Molten Flame Demon clearing the path ahead, and with a seventh-rank spell having already swept through the area, Lin Yi was not particularly worried that some sneaky bastard might still be hiding inside, waiting to ambush him.
Even so, caution prevailed.
Lin Yi had the Molten Flame Demon cast a Lava Shield over him before following behind and slowly entering the cavern.
The moment he stepped inside, a powerful gust of wind rushed toward him.
Even with the Molten Flame Demon’s massive body blocking most of it, Lin Yi could still feel that the wind was moving at an absurd speed.
What in the world was inside this cavern? Why was the wind element so dense?
Contrary to Lin Yi’s expectations, the cavern was far deeper than he had imagined.
After they had walked for a while, the passage began extending downward into the earth.
Fortunately, the slope was not too steep. Hunched over, Lin Yi was still able to descend slowly.
Several minutes later, Lin Yi finally saw the source of the emerald radiance he had noticed earlier—and was left deeply shaken by what he saw.

After passing through the narrow, difficult stretch of tunnel, the space suddenly opened up before him.
The entire cavern seemed to have transformed into a grand hall with an extremely high vaulted ceiling. Violent gales, roughly equivalent to a level-ten storm, howled through the cavern.
The source of those gales was the countless emerald-green crystals growing outward from all four walls.
Lin Yi could sense an extraordinarily pure power of the wind element contained within them.
This was likely the reason the cavern had been filled with fierce winds throughout the year. Deep within it lay vast quantities of these minerals, which Lin Yi had never even heard of before.
Although he had never seen such a mineral, he instinctively realized that it seemed remarkably similar to the “heavenly treasures” described in his textbooks.
In simple terms, after Blue Star underwent its transformation, many minerals, plants, and even animals had changed in nature after being exposed to certain spiritual energies.
And those changes were beneficial to humanity.
Over time, all such things came to be classified as heavenly treasures or spirit objects.
Lin Yi’s heart leaped with joy.
His luck was truly excellent today!
He had never expected that, apart from the skill book, there would be another unexpected windfall!
If he took these to the trading house, they should fetch a handsome price, right?
Well, it seemed he would have to find a way to obtain an Appraisal spell too.
Otherwise, although he knew that these crystals were treasures, he had no idea what they actually were or how much they were worth.
That would be quite troublesome.
Lin Yi carefully examined the surroundings.
The emerald crystals throughout the cavern were distributed rather irregularly.
A small number of them had grown along the ceiling and on the extremely high walls—places he could never hope to reach himself.
Fortunately, seven or eight clusters of crystals had grown together in one location, and they were not too high up. Although Lin Yi could not reach them himself, the big fool beside him certainly could!
Lin Yi directed the Molten Flame Demon toward the enormous crystal veins.
With the help of its fiery light, he soon saw more details.
Beneath that vast mass of emerald crystal lay countless animal bones, along with scattered tufts of fur.
From the thickness and length of the fur, it was easy to tell that it had fallen from the Tiger King he had encountered earlier.
That Tiger King had rested beneath these crystal veins for years. No wonder it had acquired some special wind-based abilities.
Could this be considered a strange symbiotic relationship between a treasure and a monster?
