Volume 1, Chapter 56: Boys Should Take Care of Girls, Mister, Peel the Shrimp for Mommy!
As they left the office building, the setting sun was painting the sky in shades of tangerine.
Ever since the family banquet concluded, Yang Chunyan had gradually shifted her focus to managing the shop. Madam Huo was well aware that during this time, Yang Chunyan had intentionally tried to please her mother-in-law at home, keeping the household in such meticulous order that Madam Huo had absolutely nothing to worry about.
"It doesn't matter much how much you drink; what matters is whether you give everyone else face. Handle it however you see fit," someone chimed in.
Wu Gang took a couple of steps toward the restroom, glanced around his surroundings, avoided the cameras, and slipped into the monitoring room. Finding the monitoring room vacant at the moment, he plugged a flash drive-like device into the system and watched as one of the surveillance feeds promptly went dark.
Now that she had taken up with Yikong, she had convinced herself that she would finally live the good life she had always yearned for, never imagining that this was merely the beginning of her suffering.
"Oh ho, quite a tough guy, aren't you? Then here I come!" the four Lubans swaggered toward Du Feng as they spoke.
The research center, which had previously been bustling with lively crowds, was now utterly desolate. Broken jars and ruined instruments were scattered haphazardly, and paper documents littered the floor everywhere.
The moment Shu Tuo spoke up, he caught Hua Wu's frigid gaze locked onto him. A sudden shudder racked his entire body, making him realize that Hua Wu was warning him to shut his mouth.
Early the next morning, Qi Yu and Li Guigui woke up and roused the two children, helping them get dressed while discussing today's itinerary with them.
"The Crimson-Clad Golden Bell Shield is nothing special after all..." Du Feng curled his lip, glancing at the blood-stained game board.
"Could you just give us the address of Qiuqiu's grandparents' place so we can find it ourselves?" Li Guigui knew how exhausting Qiuqiu's mother's life was and truly felt bad about asking her to stay up late looking for things.
"Where do you think you're running off to?" A lukewarm voice echoed right beside his ear. His footsteps instantly failed him, freezing him in place. Turning around, he saw that Li Xu had somehow appeared behind him.
"Lei... Lei Lei, just now... sigh! Let me help you up!" Shivering all over, the person who had been cowering in the corner this whole time cast a glance at the receding figure before shuffling over toward Lei Lei.
That elder delivered another vicious kick to Yang Yi, sending him rolling away with a miserable shriek. The subordinates Yang Yi had brought with him looked nervous, but not a single one dared to step forward to help him up.
Fan Bingyu looked somewhat conflicted as she glanced at Qiao Shanshan and Poppy. Seeing that neither of them had any objections, she finally took the squid offered by Li Xu.
I used to think my blood was black and believed I was some big deal, but it turns out I've only reached the Black Tiger stage of the second tier. Yet, upon reflection, it makes sense; my current strength has only reached the level of an intermediate Yin-Yang master, so naturally, my blood wouldn't be overwhelmingly powerful yet. This is a process that takes time, and there's no need to rush.
With her eyes already growing hazy, Jun Qingzhi heard that voice, her ears trembling incessantly from the warm breath against them. With her mind in a blur, she could only follow her primal instincts, shouting out whatever came to mind without a single thought passing through her brain.
This empress was capable of resorting to any trick in the book; whether she would employ a stratagem to lure the tiger away from the mountain was entirely up to her whim.
However, when Yu Qiuyu brought him to the hillside where rice was cultivated, seeing the vast expanse of rice covering the mountains and plains, Song Zhe was truly astounded.
"He is, after all, the grand elder of a major sect. With your early core-shattering realm cultivation, I'm afraid a single fart from him would blow you away!" Marquis Xiaoyao sneered repeatedly.
