Instead of leaving the Number One Restaurant in the World, Ye Huan and Lin Xi booked another private dining room.

Since they were already here, they might as well finish their meal before leaving!

"Was it worth it to fall out with Shen Huamei over me?" Ye Huan asked calmly after ordering the dishes, looking at Lin Xi sitting across from him.

"I didn't want to fall out with her either, but since the Shen family chose to become enemies with the Lin family, the friendship between the two of us is over!" Lin Xi said bitterly.

This remark took Ye Huan by surprise. "How did you know the Shen family is at war with the Lin family?"

"If the Shen family weren't enemies, you wouldn't have kept provoking Shen Mingxuan!" Lin Xi said calmly, wearing a wise expression of someone who had seen through everything.

Ye Huan was deeply impressed by Lin Xi's intelligence and sensitivity; she had managed to guess almost the entire truth simply based on his attitude toward Shen Mingxuan.

He immediately explained the Destroy Lin Chamber of Commerce, and how Shen Mingxuan had ordered Tian Nong to join forces with the Su family, the Jin family, and the Holy Dragon Martial Arts Gymnasium to deal with the Lin Group.

He left out the details!

"What on earth is the Research and Development Department investigating that would attract such mysterious people to form the Destroy Lin Chamber of Commerce just to deal with the Lin Group?" Lin Xi frowned, instantly grasping the core of the problem after hearing this.

Ye Huan was stunned by her question. "As the president of the Lin Group, you don't know what the Research and Development Department is researching?"

Lin Xi offered a bitter smile. "The Research and Development Department is not a department within the Lin Group; rather, it is a branch company independent of the Lin Group, controlled by my aunt, Lin Wei. My aunt forbids all senior executives of the Lin Group from interfering in the affairs of the Research and Development Department, including myself and my grandfather!"

Ye Huan was even more baffled. "Where are you going? Aren't you going to eat?"

"I'm not eating with a beast!" Lin Xi's indignant voice echoed from outside the private room.

"Big Boss, Shen Mingxuan sent an email to his superior, asking whether they should wait until they figure out your relationship with the Number One Restaurant in the World before making a move against you. His superior agreed."

"Who is Shen Lin's superior?" Ye Huan asked.

Cult Leader: "Shen Lin hasn't contacted his superior yet."

It seems I still can't strike against the Shen family just yet... Ye Huan felt a wave of disappointment.

Meanwhile, after storming out of the private room in a huff, Lin Xi suddenly found herself wondering: Why was she even angry?

Just because Ye Huan showed not the slightest bit of guilt or remorse for his beastly actions toward her back then?
