“Enough. I already know exactly what happened!”

Lin Qingyun bellowed angrily:

“Lin Xi, ever since you became the group’s president, the company has been plunged into one crisis after another. Now we’ve even been attacked by a top-tier hacker. You’re like a walking jinx! Are you trying to bankrupt the group?”

Lin Xi suppressed her anger and said quietly, “Uncle, please lower your voice.”

“Why should I? Are you afraid the colleagues in the cybersecurity department will find out that you’re the company’s jinx? There’s no need to hide it. Everyone in the company already knows.”

Lin Qingyun glared at her with bulging eyes.

Lin Xi’s expression grew even darker. In a low voice, she said, “Uncle, the company is currently under attack by a hacker. As vice president, you should join forces with me to get us through this crisis, not accuse and slander me without any basis!”

She met Lin Qingyun’s cold gaze head-on and spoke with force.

“Slander? Do you dare deny that every catastrophic crisis the group has faced occurred during this past year, after you became president?”

Lin Qingyun pressed her relentlessly.

Lin Xi was rendered speechless, because everything he said was true.

Her grandfather, Lin Tai, had founded the Lin Group and personally served as both chairman and president. Under his leadership, the company had always enjoyed smooth sailing. Even when occasional crises arose, they were never fatal and were easily overcome.

But ever since Lin Xi had taken over as president, the Lin Group had suffered one disastrous crisis after another. Although each crisis had ultimately been resolved, every one of them had dealt the company a severe blow.

“Uncle, let’s work together to resolve this hacker crisis first. After that, we can argue over who caused all those disasters, all right?”

Lin Xi suppressed her urge to continue arguing with him and tried to reason with him calmly.

“No! This time, you must give me a clear answer. Otherwise, the Lin Group your grandfather worked so hard to build will sooner or later be destroyed in your hands!”

Lin Qingyun continued to hound her.

Lin Xi was nearly beside herself with rage. “What kind of answer do you want?”

“If you can’t resolve this hacker crisis, you must resign as president and get out of the Lin Group!” Lin Qingyun said coldly.

Lin Xi finally understood why Lin Qingyun had rushed over in such a frenzy and begun shouting the moment he arrived.

He intended to use this hacker attack as an opportunity to force her out.

She was just about to agree, if only to make him stop talking, when she saw Lin Canglan approaching with the senior executives from his faction.

“Big Brother, you’re an elder. Don’t you feel ashamed bullying your own niece in front of so many outsiders?”

Lin Canglan walked up to Lin Qingyun and questioned him coldly.

“This is a company, not our home. Don’t try to use family ties to manipulate me!” Lin Qingyun declared righteously. “Besides, am I wrong? Every catastrophic crisis the group has faced really did happen after Lin Xi became president...”

“Oh, give it a rest!” Lin Canglan interrupted him. “I know you’ve always coveted the presidency. During the year Xi held the position, you kept undermining her both openly and covertly, doing everything you could to drag her down and strip her of the presidency.”

Then, with a vicious twist of the knife, Lin Canglan continued, “I now have serious reason to suspect that you were behind this hacker attack.”

“Second Brother, don’t make wild accusations!” Lin Qingyun exploded.

“Not just this hacker attack. I believe every catastrophic crisis the group suffered while Xi was president was your doing!”

Lin Canglan spoke without the slightest haste.

“Bullshit!”

Furious, Lin Qingyun stamped his foot and defended himself. “I’m a member of the Lin family, a shareholder of the Lin Group, and a director. I would never damage the group’s overall interests for my own benefit.”

Ye Huan, who was busy battling the hacker, stole a glance at Lin Canglan when he had a moment to spare. He couldn’t help thinking that his idiot, brainless father-in-law was surprisingly formidable when it came to trading insults.

Seeing how thoroughly he had infuriated Lin Qingyun, Lin Canglan smiled smugly and asked, “Do you have proof that you didn’t hire the hacker? Do you have proof that you weren’t behind every catastrophic crisis the company suffered this past year?”

Lin Qingyun immediately shot back, “Do you have proof that I was behind any of it?”

“At the very least, you have the motive. Dad and everyone in the company know that you’ve always been at odds with Xi and have always wanted to pull her down from the presidency so you could take the position yourself!” Lin Canglan said with a smile.

“You...”

Lin Qingyun had no answer. Enraged, he raised his hand and slapped Lin Canglan across the face.

“You dare hit me?”

Lin Canglan flew into a rage and slapped him back.

Unwilling to back down, Lin Qingyun struck him again.

Just like that, the two brothers began brawling in full view of everyone.

Wang Bin and the others stared in stunned disbelief. Were these really the usually aloof senior executives of the company?

They were astonishingly down-to-earth!

“The hacker is stealing company data, and you two are fighting and making a scene here. You’re affecting Ye Huan’s performance! If you want to fight, take it outside!”

At that moment, Lin Xi bitterly regretted never having learned martial arts. Otherwise, she would have personally thrashed those two idiots, Lin Canglan and Lin Qingyun, for ignoring the bigger picture.

Ye Huan?

The moment they heard his name, Lin Canglan and Lin Qingyun stopped fighting with remarkable coordination.

The two men rose to their feet, their faces swollen and bruised, and looked around until their eyes finally settled on Ye Huan, who stood not far away.

“Butcher, what are you doing?”

Lin Canglan rushed over in a few strides and raised his hand to smack Ye Huan on the head.

Lin Xi hurried over and stopped him.

“Dad, calm down. Ye Huan is intercepting the hacker and preventing him from stealing the company’s data.”

Lin Canglan was stunned. “How can a butcher intercept a hacker? Is he using a butcher’s knife?”

At that moment, Lin Qingyun hurried over and pointed at Ye Huan.

“Lin Xi, is this the butcher your grandfather found for you? You actually chose not to use Wang Bin and the other experts from the cybersecurity department, and instead put a butcher in charge of stopping a hacker? Have you been kicked in the head by a donkey?”

Lin Xi suddenly realized that she had misspoken. Her father and uncle, who had been fighting each other moments ago, had now joined forces to attack both her and Ye Huan.

But there was no point hiding the truth now, so she could only answer honestly:

“The hacker attacking the company is extremely powerful. Wang Bin and his team are completely outmatched. Right now, all we can do is place our hopes on Ye Huan. If he can’t stop the hacker either, all we can do is watch helplessly as the hacker steals every piece of data and information belonging to the company.”

“Nonsense!”

Lin Canglan and Lin Qingyun shouted in unison.

Lin Canglan scolded her, “Xi, how could you be so foolish? If Wang Bin and his team aren’t a match for the hacker, you should immediately think of another solution, not place your hopes on a butcher. You’re simply giving up!”

Lin Qingyun was far less restrained than Lin Canglan. He went straight for the jugular:

“Lin Xi, have you been kicked in the head by a donkey? Or do you actually want the Lin Group to go bankrupt, and deliberately arranged for this butcher to pretend to be a computer expert so he could indirectly help the hacker steal the company’s data?”
