Chapter 26: A Temper Bigger Than Her Bust
Hong Luan frowned at this moment. "What do you mean by bringing Jin Jiu to heel?"
Her underlying implication was that the Hades, as he was known, had always been a lone wolf. Yet, within a single day, he had first taken over the Hell Gate and now brought Jin Jiu under his thumb—this was entirely inconsistent with the Hades' established character.
"I need a foundation in Peng City!" Ye Huan replied.
Upon hearing this, Hong Luan felt a sense of dismay. Damn it, the Hades had already begun establishing a foothold in Peng City, which meant he intended to settle here long-term!
She asked, "Then should the police continue to investigate the evidence of Jin Jiu's illegal and criminal activities?"
Ye Huan thought for a moment and said, "No need to investigate. Just let him confess everything himself. But do not arrest him for now. If he becomes disobedient or commits any further illegal acts in the future, it won't be too late to arrest him then."
In his mind, Jin Jiu quickly analyzed the information contained in Ye Huan's words:
First, he had to honestly confess every illegal or criminal act he had committed in the past to Hong Luan;
Second, he had to be obedient—obedient to the Hades;
Third, he must not engage in any further illegal or criminal activities unless ordered by the Hades.
"Fine!"
Hong Luan nodded. She had caught a different nuance in Ye Huan’s words: Ye Huan needed Jin Jiu while he was building his foundation, but once that foundation was secure, Jin Jiu would have no further utility. At that point, the police could arrest him at any time.
"By the way, the Global Official War God Conference is about to be held. Why aren't you off attending that instead of tailing me?"
With the issue resolved, Ye Huan shifted the topic, laughing in amusement.
*I'm worried you'll slaughter the innocent...* Hong Luan thought to herself, but aloud she said, "I am under orders to protect you!"
"Do I need your protection?" Ye Huan asked.
Hong Luan: "..."
"Don't worry. Peng City is my hometown; I won't cause any trouble here." Ye Huan patted Hong Luan on the shoulder and turned to leave.
Hong Luan watched Ye Huan walk out of the villa, then pulled a few tissues from the coffee table to wipe the sweat from her forehead. She had genuinely been worried that Ye Huan would refuse to give her face and slice Jin Jiu down with a single blade!
...
When Ye Huan returned to the bar, the birthday party had reached its climax. The thumping music and swaying bodies were incredibly infectious.
Lin Xi had transformed into a DJ queen, mixing tracks while shaking her body, singing along at the top of her lungs, and occasionally taking a sip of alcohol.
As for the fifty thugs brought by Jin Peng, as well as the broken tables and chairs, they had already been cleared away by the bar staff, and even Su Lei’s bodyguards had been sent to the hospital.
"This girl is interesting!"
Ye Huan found a corner to sit in and watched Lin Xi’s performance from afar.
Just then, a girl walked over holding two drinks. She sat down beside Ye Huan, pressed tightly against him, and gave him a sultry look. "Shall we go to a private room on the second floor to have some fun?"
Because the DJ's volume in the bar was so high, the girl had to shout to talk to Ye Huan.
"What kind of fun?" Ye Huan asked loudly.
The girl showed no hint of shyness. "I want to experience the pain that Xiang Yingxin went through!"
Ye Huan: "..."
"Let’s go!" the girl shouted.
Ye Huan’s mouth twitched. "My prostate is a bit sore; let’s do it next time!"
"Alright!"
The girl didn't seem disappointed. She simply asked for Ye Huan’s contact information and returned to the dance floor.
She had only been gone a short while when another girl approached him with the same request, only to be politely rejected by Ye Huan.
And so it went!
Girl after girl came to find Ye Huan, all with the same goal in mind! Ye Huan was at a loss for words. What was going on with the socialite heiresses of Peng City? Were there no men left in the city? Or were the men of Peng City just not up to the task?
At this moment, Shen Huamei walked over carrying a bottle of wine.
"Do you want to experience the pain that Xiang Yingxin went through, too?" Ye Huan asked, shocked and shouting over the music.
Shen Huamei glared at him and roared, "Who let you in here? Get out!"
Ye Huan let out a sigh of relief. Finally, a normal person. He shouted back, "What did you say? I can't hear you!"
"I told you to get out!" Shen Huamei bellowed.
"Go to the bathroom together? No thanks, you go ahead!" Ye Huan shouted back.
Shen Huamei took a deep, angry breath, leaned close to Ye Huan’s ear, and screamed, "Get out!"
Ye Huan continued to feign deafness. "You want me to dance? I can't. I'm a pig butcher. I can perform neutering surgeries on pigs, but I can't dance!"
Seeing Ye Huan playing dumb, Shen Huamei was completely out of options. She stomped off angrily to the dance floor.
"This girl—her temper is even bigger than her chest!" Ye Huan chuckled.
Just then, the DJ queen Lin Xi received a text message. Her face changed instantly after reading it. She immediately ran over to exchange a few words with Shen Huamei, then dashed out of the bar, typing away on her phone as she ran.
Ye Huan then received a text from Lin Xi: "Come with me to the company!"
Ye Huan quickly chased out of the bar, got into the car, and asked, "What happened?"
"The Lin Group is under a hacker attack!"
Lin Xi sat in the passenger seat, her face grim as she urged him, "Drive! Never mind the traffic lights or anything else—you must get to the company as fast as possible!"
"Understood!"
Ye Huan started the car and slammed on the gas.
In that instant, the sudden G-force made Lin Xi feel as if her back might crush the seat. That wasn't all; Ye Huan’s subsequent driving maneuvers scared the soul right out of her. He floored the accelerator, weaving through traffic with thrilling drifts and overtakes, driving exactly like a professional racer.
"Slow down! If you keep driving like this, we’ll die in a car crash before we even reach the company!" Lin Xi shouted, her face drained of color.
"Don't worry. My skills are so good that even the world’s top racing legend, Louis, would feel inferior," Ye Huan said casually, showing no intention of slowing down.
Lin Xi rolled her eyes. "I’ve discovered that you really are a master of bragging."
Ye Huan: "..."
Why does nobody believe the truth when I tell it?
Lin Xi didn't pursue the topic further, instead saying in a low voice, "Rumor has it that the Jin Group has a master hacker. I suspect that because you crippled Jin Jiu, he’s retaliating by ordering a hack on the Lin Group."
"This definitely wasn't done by Jin Jiu," Ye Huan said with absolute certainty.
"What makes you so sure?" Lin Xi asked.
"Jin Jiu was begging to work for me, so I didn't have the heart to cripple him. Therefore, the hacker attacking the Lin Group definitely wasn't arranged by him!" Ye Huan stated.
"You're bragging again!"
Lin Xi was truly at a loss for how to handle Ye Huan’s habit of boasting.
Ye Huan couldn't be bothered to explain. He took the steering wheel with one hand and used the other to take out his phone and call Jin Jiu. Once connected, he put it on speaker.
"Who is this?" Jin Jiu’s deep, domineering voice came through the phone.
"It's me," Ye Huan said.
"Oh, it’s you, Master! Whatever you need, just command me. I’ll go through fire and water without hesitation!"
Jin Jiu’s deep, authoritative voice shifted in a second into the obsequious, fawning tone of a lackey.
Lin Xi’s mouth hung open in shock; she was far too familiar with Jin Jiu’s voice—this couldn't be faked.
"Little Jiu, sing me a nursery rhyme," Ye Huan commanded.
Jin Jiu: "Two little honeybees, flying in the flowers, flying, flying..."
