Chapter 24: Get Out of My Sight in Three Seconds
The conversation between Ye Huan and Lin Xi left Xiang Yingxin absolutely furious!
In reality, Xiang Yingxin had not been intimate with Ye Huan at all. Her disheveled appearance was purely the result of over thirty minutes of high-intensity dancing and singing—she was simply exhausted! But no one else knew that.
Xiang Yingxin had intended to publicly admit that she and Ye Huan had been together. Within two days, the entire upper-crust circle of Pengcheng would have known that Lin Xi’s husband had cheated, and done so right in front of her. Lin Xi would have been utterly humiliated. However, the few words exchanged between Ye Huan and Lin Xi had completely dismantled her plan. If that rumor spread now, everyone would assume she had been played by Ye Huan, and that Lin Xi had even orchestrated it. Her reputation would be ruined.
...
After dragging a half-dead Jin Peng out of the bar, Ye Huan called Lin Xi.
"Why did Jin Peng send men to the bar to grab you tonight?"
Lin Xi immediately recounted Jin Jiu’s visit to the Lin Group that afternoon. After a moment of hesitation, she followed her grandfather’s wishes and asked if Ye Huan had a way to resolve the problem: "Jin Feiyu has been arrested, and now you’ve crippled Jin Peng. Given Jin Jiu’s personality, he will definitely retaliate against me with a vengeance. Do you have any way to stop him?"
Ye Huan thought for a moment. "I’ll go and cripple Jin Jiu."
That was Ye Huan for you; his way of thinking was always different from everyone else’s. If anyone else faced a problem like Lin Xi’s, they would try every possible way to solve it: running away, pulling strings to beg Jin Jiu for mercy, or reinforcing their security. But Ye Huan was different. When faced with an unsolvable problem, his first instinct was to solve the person who created the problem.
Lin Xi replied, "The logic of a psychopath is truly different from a normal person’s. Be careful, then. I’ll wait for you at the bar."
Ye Huan was exasperated. He had told her he worked in the slaughterhouse, and she insisted he was a butcher; his brain worked differently, and she assumed he was mentally ill. It was unbelievable.
"You butcher, I advise you to give up on whatever ideas you have about my father and stop meddling in the feud between the Jin family and Lin Xi, otherwise, you will die a miserable death!" the half-dead Jin Peng hissed from the floor.
"If you knew who I was, you wouldn't be saying that," Ye Huan sneered with disdain. He casually kicked Jin Peng unconscious, dragged him to the parking lot, and shoved him into the trunk. After getting into the car, he opened the window and shouted: "Lead me to Jin Jiu!"
Immediately, the Water and Fire Judges of the Hell Gate, who had been guarding Ye Huan in the shadows, pulled their car in front to lead the way.
...
In the living room of a luxury villa, Jin Jiu sat on the sofa with a gloomy face, a cigar in his mouth, his eyes flashing with malice. He was waiting for Lin Xi. To be precise, he was waiting for Jin Peng to bring her to him.
"It’s been almost two hours. Why hasn't Xiao Peng succeeded yet?" Jin Jiu checked the time and muttered to himself with a frown.
The butler standing nearby said anxiously, "Master Jiu, could something have happened to the Second Young Master?"
"Impossible!" Jin Jiu said with absolute confidence. "Xiao Peng took fifty men with him. Grabbing a woman who has no strength to truss a chicken shouldn't be difficult at all. I suspect Xiao Peng must have started partying at the bar; that kid is just too fond of playing."
"Do you want me to call the Second Young Master and hurry him along?" the butler asked.
"Yes," Jin Jiu nodded.
The butler immediately took out his phone and dialed Jin Peng’s number. A moment later, the ringing of a cell phone echoed from outside the villa.
"Xiao Peng is back!"
Jin Jiu jumped to his feet, grabbed the Tang sword resting on the coffee table, unsheathed it, and told the butler: "Go out and welcome them. Get that bitch Lin Xi inside immediately. Tonight, I will personally carve her up, slice by slice."
The butler obeyed and started toward the entrance. However, the villa door was kicked open with tremendous force, and Jin Peng was tossed inside.
"Dad, don't let this butcher go! Kill him! Kill him..." Jin Peng pointed at Ye Huan, who was walking in, and roared in rage.
"This..." Seeing Jin Peng’s state, the faces of Jin Jiu and the butler changed instantly. When they saw Ye Huan walking in, Jin Jiu asked coldly: "Who are you? Did you do this to my son?"
Before Ye Huan could answer, Jin Peng shrieked: "It’s him, Dad! It’s him who beat me! Hurry up and kill him to avenge me!"
Jin Jiu’s gaze sharpened, staring at Ye Huan like a viper. "You beat my son and had the audacity to come here alone. Kid, I, Jin Jiu, have roamed the world for so many years, but I have never seen anyone bolder, more arrogant, or more brazen than you..."
"I didn't come here to talk nonsense with you," Ye Huan coldly interrupted.
"Then what did you come here for?" Jin Jiu asked.
Before Ye Huan could answer, Jin Peng interjected: "Dad, he came here to cripple you!"
"Cripple me? Hahahaha..." Jin Jiu laughed coldly, looking at Ye Huan with contempt. "Ever since I stepped into the underworld, countless people have wanted to cripple me. But those people were either crippled by me or killed by me. Kid, if you want to cripple me, we’ll see if you have the ability."
After speaking, he threw the Tang sword to the butler and said, "Sever his hamstrings. I don't like the way he’s standing while talking to me."
"Understood!" The butler took the sword and looked at Ye Huan with an amused expression. "Kid, since you dared to come here alone and brag about crippling Master Jiu, you must have some skills. I’ll give you a chance to make the first move, so no one can say I’m bullying you!"
Ye Huan watched the butler’s overbearing, punchable face and couldn't even muster the desire to fight. He said, "I’m here for Jin Jiu, it has nothing to do with you. I’ll give you three seconds to get out of my sight, or I will kill you!"
"Oh, how arrogant!" The butler laughed.
Jin Jiu and Jin Peng also laughed cruelly. They both knew the butler’s strength; for Ye Huan to act so cocky in front of him was simply suicidal.
"One!" Ye Huan began counting.
"You're courting death!"
The butler, enraged by Ye Huan’s arrogance and lack of respect, lunged at him. He didn't use the Tang sword, choosing instead to kick Ye Huan in the chest. In his mind, fighting a pretty boy like Ye Huan was already bullying; using a weapon would be even more so. Moreover, since Jin Jiu hadn't ordered him to kill, he assumed he could easily subdue Ye Huan with his bare hands and then use the sword to sever his hamstrings.
Faced with the butler’s powerful kick, Ye Huan sneered with disdain, sidestepped slightly to avoid it, and said:
"Two!"
Oh?
Seeing that Ye Huan had dodged his kick, the butler was genuinely surprised. "I didn't see that coming; you actually have some moves."
As he spoke, his kicking leg touched the ground, and he immediately followed up with a low sweeping kick, intending to knock Ye Huan off his feet.
