Chapter 18: Are They Going to Meet?
Before dawn on the second day, Yu Xiangsi was awakened by someone touching her. Who would understand? She had been sleeping soundly when someone was nibbling her neck and fondling her, doing this and that. Was this even human behavior?
Unable to bear it, Yu Xiangsi kicked him.
Ji Jing let out a stifled groan, and Yu Xiangsi immediately snapped awake.
This was a crucial figure in her revenge plan—how could she just kick him?
Yu Xiangsi hurriedly apologized, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. Are you… are you okay?”
Their eyes met, and his expression turned fierce. Gritting his teeth, he said, “Looks like you’re awake. Good.”
Before she could react, he suddenly kissed her fiercely.
Yu Xiangsi’s mind went blank under his kiss, and she heard him whisper in her ear, “Be good, Xiangsi, call me brother.”
Yu Xiangsi was speechless.
She bit her lip, refusing to say a word, which only provoked him to be more forceful.
That day, Yu Xiangsi was late.
While getting ready, she finally lost her temper. “If I get docked pay, it’s your fault!”
The satisfied man was in a great mood, smiling as he said, “Why rush? I’ll just say you came to pick me up and went to the office with me. No one will say a thing.”
No one would say a thing? More like the whole office would be rife with gossip.
Yu Xiangsi followed Ji Jing to the office, and sure enough, the two arriving together caught everyone’s attention.
Especially Yuna, who mocked her viciously.
Yuna sneered, “You can already pick up the CEO alone this early? Wonder what tricks you’re using.”
“Don’t say that. Xiangsi works really hard,” a colleague defended her.
Yuna snorted, “Hardworking, sure. But is she working hard at her job or just working hard to please men?”
The colleague shook their head helplessly. After Yuna left, they comforted Yu Xiangsi, “Don’t mind her. She wasn’t like this before. I don’t know what’s gotten into her, but she really misunderstands you.”
Yu Xiangsi curved her lips slightly, unfazed. After all, it wasn’t exactly a misunderstanding.
She quickly immersed herself in work, for tomorrow was the first meeting with the Qiao Corporation.
The entire project team held meetings all day, finally ready for tomorrow.
In the conference room, Yu Xiangsi stared at the computer screen with a profound gaze.
Qiao Zhilin—tomorrow she would finally meet the mastermind who caused Qin Lang’s death.
She would make her pay back the pain of losing Qin Lang a hundredfold, a thousandfold!
Just thinking about it made her blood boil with fervor.
Ji Jing and Yu Xiangsi were working late when Ji Jing suddenly received a message from Shen Xinian.
It was a photo of Qiao Zhilin playing billiards in the night, accompanied by a comment: “Cleared the table in two shots, improving fast.”
Ji Jing frowned, then locked his phone, feeling no stir of emotion—only thinking Qiao Zhilin was utterly reckless.
Tomorrow was the first meeting between their companies, and he was working late preparing, yet she had the nerve to go to a club?
She was certainly overconfident, probably because she felt untouchable after saving Ji Qing.
Ji Jing truly couldn’t understand where Qiao Zhilin’s confidence came from.
The meeting was set for 9:30 a.m. in the Qiao Corporation building.
Yu Xiangsi accompanied Ji Jing and arrived promptly.
Qiao Zhilin personally greeted them downstairs.
