Chapter 51: I Worry About Fourth Brother's Butt
As Chen Fan got down from the bed, the Student Union senior sneered again.
"The bed is an absolute mess, looking just like a dog kennel. Deducting points."
Chen Fan frowned.
"It's already night, and lights-out is about to sound. Is there any problem with me sleeping in my own bed?"
"Oh, still talking back, huh?"
"Let me tell you, in the School of Economics and Management, whatever we in the Student Union say is the rule."
Chen Fan was about to step forward to argue, but Ma Xiaoshuai pulled him back.
A few Student Union members made a show of wandering around the dormitory before dropping a final remark as they prepared to leave.
"Your entire dorm is docked five points."
Then, pointing at Chen Fan, the senior added:
"You... violating dormitory regulations and talking back to a senior. Deducting ten points."
"Just wait to see your name on the notice board tomorrow."
Hearing this, Wu Di hurried to chase after them.
"Senior, wait, wait a minute..."
Watching Wu Di chase after them with a flattering smile all the way out, the guys in the dorm looked at each other in dismay.
"Did these Student Union guys eat shit? What's wrong with them today? Spouting venom the moment they stepped in?"
Luo Wenjie looked utterly displeased.
Ma Xiaoshuai, on the other hand, turned to look at Chen Fan.
"Fourth Brother, why do I feel like those three were deliberately targeting you today?"
Chen Fan remained expressionless, but he basically figured out what was going on.
Right after he finished talking with Tian Yuan, these three Student Union members showed up for an inspection.
He hadn't expected this guy to be so impatient.
At that moment, Wu Di walked back in with a heavy sigh.
"How did it go?"
Wu Di sighed.
"They wouldn't give me any face at all."
"It's crystal clear they're set on deducting points and posting a notice."
"Looks like our title of Civilized Dormitory during military training is gone."
He raised his head to look at Chen Fan.
"Just now, I secretly pulled one of the seniors aside to ask. Fourth, did you offend someone?"
Luo Wenjie immediately stepped closer.
"What do you mean? They really came for Fourth?"
Chen Fan spoke up then: "It's my fault for implicating all of you. I'm sorry."
Wu Di couldn't help asking: "What on earth is going on?"
Chen Fan gave a brief explanation.
Upon learning that the other party was the vice president of the sophomore Student Union and actually dared to harbor malicious intentions toward a brother's girlfriend, not to mention resorting to such despicable tactics, the brothers in the dorm were instantly enraged.
Luo Wenjie directly rolled up his sleeves.
"Damn it, how dare he lay a finger on my brother's girl? I'll waste him."
Ma Xiaoshuai also looked at Chen Fan: "What's your plan? Just say the word if you need anything, your brothers won't hesitate."
Chen Fan looked at his roommates in front of him and suddenly smiled slightly.
"Forget it. There's no need to stoop to the level of people like that."
"I'll just treat it as being bitten by a dog."
Hearing this, Wu Di visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
Luo Wenjie asked excitedly: "Just leaving it at that? Can you swallow this kind of anger?"
"I know this type of guy too well; he wouldn't dare hit you, but he'll disgust you to no end."
"If you choose to compromise, believe me, he'll immediately step up his game..."
Wu Di hastily chimed in at this point.
"I think we shouldn't act rashly."
"We worked so hard to get into college. If we get a major disciplinary mark or get expelled over a fight, where are we supposed to reason with anyone?"
"It's not worth getting expelled from school for scum like him."
Wu Di patted his chest.
"Don't worry, guys. I'll figure something out about this. I definitely won't let Fourth Brother get wronged."
Wu Di actually had a way.
During the military training, Wu Di possessed the social butterfly personality of someone who could handle all sides with ease. Everyone in the dorm knew Wu Di had ambitions for the upcoming class committee elections, and he had already managed to build connections with some seniors in the Student Union.
Through active lobbying, Wu Di actually managed to smooth things over by the next day.
"Don't worry, the Student Union president gave me his word that they won't deliberately target you anymore."
Upon returning, Wu Di comforted Chen Fan. "That Tian Yuan is just a vice president; he doesn't have the power to cover the sky with one hand."
Chen Fan smiled. "Thanks, Boss."
Even though he didn't care much about the matter himself, Wu Di had run around busily for it, which certainly showed he was a true friend.
"Hey, if you want to thank someone, thank the youngest. Little Xiaoshuai contributed a pack of Soft Zhonghua cigarettes. If it weren't for those cigarettes, things wouldn't have been so easy to settle."
Ma Xiaoshuai turned around and smiled at Chen Fan.
"Just a pack of cigarettes, no big deal."
Wu Di put his arm around Chen Fan's shoulder.
"Military training is over. Shouldn't our dorm go out and have a proper get-together?"
Ma Xiaoshuai immediately responded.
"I have no objections. Come to think of it, our dorm hasn't gone out for a group drinking session yet."
Chen Fan originally planned to go to the internet cafe to check his emails in the evening, but seeing everyone's enthusiasm, it was hard for him to refuse.
Thus, the six members of the dormitory went off-campus together for a gathering that evening.
The dining spot wasn't any high-end hotel, but an ordinary street food stall.
Since it was the dorm's first group gathering, everyone was quite excited.
As soon as they took their seats, Wu Di shouted enthusiastically.
"Boss, time to order!"
Taking the menu handed over by the waiter, Wu Di rattled off six dishes in one breath, basically catering to everyone's tastes.
"How about some barbecue too?"
Ma Xiaoshuai laughed. "Eating at a food stall in summer without barbecue has no flavor at all."
So Wu Di smiled and told the waiter: "Bring twenty skewers of mutton, twenty skewers of pork belly, twenty skewers of garlic-wrapped meat, and five skewers each of tofu, tendon, and cabbage..."
He handed the menu back to the waiter after finishing. "Bring this much first, we'll order more if it's not enough."
"Boss, what kind of crap did you order? Can this even be called eating barbecue?"
Luo Wenjie snatched the menu away, flipped through it, and told the waiter:
"Ten skewers of grilled chives, and six skewers each of sheep's gun, bullet heads, milk boxes, and bulletproof vests, plus four skewers of beef joy and beef kidneys."
Han Xu, the fifth member of the dorm, quietly asked Chen Fan beside him, "What are milk boxes and bulletproof vests? And what is beef joy?"
Before Chen Fan could answer, Wu Di, sitting nearby, was already cursing.
"Damn. Do you have to be so lewd?"
"You ordered entirely low-road stuff. Do you want to survive tonight after eating all that?"
Ma Xiaoshuai chimed in to stir up trouble: "You eat all of these yourself later. Once you're done, you're not allowed into the dorm tonight—I'm worried Fourth Brother's chrysanthemum won't be safe."
Chen Fan laughed and scolded: "Why worry about me? Shouldn't you worry about the Boss?"
Ma Xiaoshuai chuckled.
"Because he sleeps right next to you, you two are the closest."
Chen Fan glanced at Luo Wenjie and joked with a smile.
"I must say, looking at the pile of things you ordered, you don't look like a southerner at all, but rather like a northerner."
Luo Wenjie chuckled.
"Fourth, you guessed right. My ancestral home is in the Northeast."
"My parents are both from the Northeast and later moved to the South because of work."
Ma Xiaoshuai cursed, "Damn, I was wondering why there isn't a trace of a southerner in you, and even your speech carries that strong northern flavor."
At that moment, the waiter came over to ask if they wanted beer.
Wu Di waved his hand grandly.
"Bring four crates of beer first."
Hearing this, Han Xu clicked his tongue inwardly.
"Isn't that too much?"
Wu Di waved his hand dismissively.
"Not much, not much. It's our first gathering, let me test everyone's capacity first."
Luo Wenjie, chewing on edamame, laughed and cursed upon hearing this.
"Damn, I'm not a woman, why test my capacity? Why don't you test my length instead?"
Wu Di wore a wry expression, amused and exasperated.
"That mouth of yours... I think instead of Luo Wenjie, we should just call you Luo Number Two."
Ma Xiaoshuai applauded.
"That nickname is not bad—simple, direct, and easy to remember."
Luo Wenjie smiled smugly.
"Why are you shouting out my only strong point?"
