Chapter Twenty-One: A Perfect Solution

The four-wheeled truck sped toward the city center. Xiao Sanpi and his group’s vehicle not only kept up but gradually closed the distance. Along the way, several more vehicles appeared, joining the escort convoy.

Fat Dong gripped the steering wheel tightly, his chubby face twitching with frustration.

“Damn it! Xiao Meng, did you dig up someone’s ancestral grave or plant something in their wife’s womb?”

“With this kind of commotion, it’s almost like the heavenly soldiers and generals capturing the Monkey King!”

I had never experienced such high-level treatment before. Today was an eye-opener.

Suddenly, the phone rang—it was Xu Qingguo.

Second Master ignored her lies and cut straight to the point.

“An old acquaintance just called me. His subordinate, Xiao Sanpi from Liantang, reported that you used my name to save two people?”

“...”

“Speak!”

That sharp reprimand startled Xu Qingguo.

Then she pouted, her tone tinged with a hint of tears.

“Old Master, why are you so fierce? Saving lives is a doctor’s duty! I was treating patients when that bastard Xiao Sanpi suddenly showed up with a group banging gongs. They wanted to beat the patients and even me. I got angry and used your name to chase them off.”

“I thought the world was vast, but the Second Master of Chang City was above all, and no one would dare disrespect you. Her coy act of pleading and cuteness stunned both Dong Fatty and me.

Just as Xu Qingguo pretended to hang up, Second Master suddenly raised his voice, resolute and unyielding.

With that, Second Master hung up, leaving only the dial tone.

Xu Qingguo was dumbfounded. She glanced at me and my sister-in-law and swallowed nervously.

“Second Master has never been this harsh with me.”

I glanced ahead and noticed a narrow river nearby. Suddenly, inspiration struck.

“There’s a plan, but Qingguo might have to suffer a little.”

Xu Qingguo’s face showed disbelief.

“Stop wasting time and tell us!”

I asked, “Can you swim a little?”

Xu Qingguo replied, “Pretty well!”

I briefly explained the plan.

They stared at me in disbelief.

“Will it work?”

They answered in unison:

“Yes!”

Xu Qingguo immediately dialed Xiao Sanpi.

“Xiao Sanpi! You’re getting bold, calling Second Master to pressure me?!”

“Miss Xu, it’s unavoidable. Please don’t take offense.”

I snatched the phone from her hand.

“Xiao Sanpi, I admit defeat tonight. I’ll go with you, but on one condition!”

Xiao Sanpi sneered through the line.

“What condition?”

I said, “My two friends aren’t involved. I’ll bring Liao Xiaoqin here. Once you confirm they’re no threat, clear a path and let them leave safely. Don’t bother them again!”

Xiao Sanpi laughed loudly.

“Of course! Do you think I need you to say that?”

Xu Qingguo panicked beside me.

“Meng Xun, no...”

I swiftly hung up.

By now, the vehicle had reached the middle of the bridge.

Dong Fatty suddenly slammed on the brakes.

“Screech!”

Xiao Sanpi’s convoy also stopped immediately.

They jumped out swiftly, all armed, standing by their vehicles with tense, murderous expressions.

Xu Qingguo was the first to open her door and step out.

I followed closely.

She pointed at them.

“Xiao Sanpi! Meng Xun is loyal and won’t drag us into this. You settle your own scores!”

“But I’m telling you, this isn’t over. I’ll come back to settle the score with you!”

Suddenly!

I slapped Xu Qingguo hard on the back.

She let out a miserable cry, collapsing to the ground, her eyes wide with shock and confusion.

“Meng Xun, what are you doing...?”

I wore a fierce expression, grabbed her, and hurled her into the river.

“Splash!”

She fell into the water.

I threw a tightly wrapped bundle of fake medicine forward and shouted,

“I’ll blow you all to hell!!!”

Everything happened within seconds.

Xiao Sanpi and his men were stunned by my sudden attack on Xu Qingguo. Then they saw the flying object roaring through the air; their faces darkened, and they shouted loudly,

“Take cover!”

They all jumped aside, dodging and dropping to the ground.

I quickly got into the vehicle, held a dagger to the dazed Dong Chuan’s neck, and shouted fiercely,

“Run them over!!!”

Dong Fatty shuddered but started the vehicle, flooring the accelerator. Through the heavy rain, the truck sped forward wildly!
