“So the Water-Curtain Cavern is going to be developed into a tourist attraction?”
Jiang Fan immediately felt depressed.
He had finally found an excellent fishing spot, and now it was about to disappear?
Liu Zhoucheng said, “Apparently, the authorities had their eyes on that place long ago, so they sent people in to survey the terrain. Once they discovered it was suitable for tourism, they decided to take it over.”
“But the news hasn’t gotten out yet. It’ll probably be announced in the next few days.”
“Kid, we don’t have many chances left to go fishing in there. At a time like this, you still have the heart to sleep at home?”
Jiang Fan frowned. Could this have something to do with Zhang Zhidong and the others?
If only he had known, he would never have told them about the route into the Water-Curtain Cavern!
In fact, it really did have something to do with them.
Their survey had revealed an underground river beneath the Water-Curtain Cavern, one that flowed directly into the subterranean waterways.
That underground river was connected to the Northgate River, as well as the reservoirs and waterways around Farpeak Town.
That alone would not have been enough reason to seal the place off. The real problem was that a colossal creature had appeared in the underground river. Two anglers and several wild-swimming enthusiasts had already been eaten by it!
The Water-Curtain Cavern happened to be the creature’s lair, which was why the authorities had moved so quickly to seal off the area.
Jiang Fan knew nothing about this. All he knew was that the whole situation was unbelievably frustrating.
Once the Water-Curtain Cavern was sealed, wouldn’t he lose his chance to land that five-hundred-and-fifty-eight-pound Mekong giant catfish?
“Old geezer! Get the rods ready. We’re leaving!”
“Before the authorities officially announce that they’re turning the place into a tourist attraction, we have to catch that big fish!”
Jiang Fan hauled out his rebar fishing rod and contacted the others.
In the Sanshang fan group, when He Qiang, Zhou Hong, and the others learned that the Water-Curtain Cavern was about to be developed into a tourist attraction, they immediately began cursing up a storm.
Blond Heartthrob: Brother Fan, our secret fishing spot is about to be gone?
Little Dongdong Ma: Damn it! These people are like they’ve never seen money before. The moment they find a good place, they develop it and start charging admission!
Young Master Zhou: ??? Brother Fan, why didn’t I know about this? I’m going to ask my father!
Blond Heartthrob: @Young Master Zhou You’ve been gone for over ten minutes. What’s the situation?
Little Dongdong Ma: Where are you? Where are you? @Young Master Zhou
Young Master Zhou: Things would’ve been fine if I hadn’t asked. The moment I did, my dad found out I’d gone fishing again. I almost got beaten with the Seven Wolves!
Blond Heartthrob: That’s not the point, okay? Is the Water-Curtain Cavern really being developed into a tourist attraction?
Young Master Zhou: Damn it! Me getting chewed out isn’t the point?
Blond Heartthrob: Yes, yes, brother, you’ve suffered. So, is there any news?
Young Master Zhou: Just like Brother Fan said—it really has been designated for development!

Little Dongdong Ma: God damn it!
Emperor He Qiang: God damn it! Which bastard leaked the news? I bet he’s an incredibly handsome man!
Blond Heartthrob: ??? He Qiang, don’t tell me you’re behind this?
Emperor He Qiang: Impossible! Absolutely impossible!!
Little Dongdong Ma: Suspicious, very suspicious. This definitely has something to do with you. Let’s see when you finally show your fox’s tail.
Emperor He Qiang: It really wasn’t me. I’m innocent!
Young Master Zhou: Maybe it has something to do with the expedition team we ran into last time. Perhaps the authorities had their eyes on the Water-Curtain Cavern before we did.
Jiang Fan: I’m going in to fish for the giant creature. Who’s coming?
Blond Heartthrob: I just got back and have nothing to do. I’ll livestream it!
Little Dongdong Ma: I’m in too. Count me in!
Young Master Zhou: My dad found out I went fishing again, so I don’t dare leave the house for the next few days. You guys go ahead, Brother Fan.
Emperor He Qiang: Anyone can tell you’re a novice angler. A true fishing fanatic fears neither wind nor rain, neither his wife nor the Seven Wolves!
Young Master Zhou: You’re saying I’m scared? What a joke! Fine, I’m going!
And so Jiang Fan arranged for the four of them to come along, then set out with Liu Zhoucheng.
Once they reached the outskirts of the Water-Curtain Cavern, they met up with He Qiang, Zhou Hong, and the others.
“Brother Fan, who’s this guy with you? I’ve never seen him before!” the blond-haired man asked curiously.
Jiang Fan coughed. “Ahem. I married his daughter. He’s my old geezer.”
Liu Zhoucheng said, “Kid, enough nonsense. Let’s get inside.”
With that, everyone entered the Water-Curtain Cavern. They paddled their kayaks all the way to the lake inside.
Zhou Hong kept glancing at Liu Zhoucheng from time to time. He felt as though he had seen him somewhere before, but he could not remember where.
“Zhou Hong, why do you keep staring at Brother Fan’s father-in-law?”
The blond-haired man noticed and asked.
Zhou Hong frowned. “I think I’ve seen him before… I just can’t remember where. Oh, right! He seems to be Liu Zhoucheng, the number-one entrepreneur in Farpeak Town!”
“That impressive?!”
The blond-haired man and Ma Dongdong suddenly leaned back in synchronized surprise.
“So Brother Fan really is living off his wife’s family!”
“Is it possible that Brother Fan isn’t doing too badly himself?”
At that moment, He Qiang was standing beside Liu Zhoucheng.
He took out a cigarette, offered one to Liu Zhoucheng, and lit it for him before lighting his own.

Then he asked cheerfully, “Chairman Liu, you were the one who had your people seal off the Water-Curtain Cavern, weren’t you?”
Liu Zhoucheng cursed, “That’s slander! Watch it, or I’ll sue you for slander!”
He Qiang blew out a cloud of smoke and said with a grin, “Chairman Liu, maybe other people don’t know, but do you really think you can fool me? You’re a major entrepreneur, but you actually have another identity as well. Ahem… I’m saying too much.”
“I’ve received some information too. A giant creature has appeared throughout the waterways of the Northgate River and eaten quite a few people. It hides in the underground river and occasionally emerges into the various waterways through it. The authorities were afraid that these fishing fanatics would risk their lives and get themselves killed, so they didn’t dare reveal the truth. Instead, they found an excuse to seal the place off, didn’t they?”
Liu Zhoucheng’s expression finally relaxed. “Well, well, your information network is pretty impressive. That is more or less what happened. The only thing we don’t know is how big that creature actually is.”
At this, Liu Zhoucheng grew excited.
He Qiang said, “Could it be the same creature we hooked last time, only for it to get away?”
“According to what I’ve heard, it’s not small. But no one knows exactly how big it is. That creature is clever and hides far too well.”
He Qiang smiled. “So the reason we hurried back last time after the giant creature escaped was because you were worried your son-in-law would be in danger?”
Liu Zhoucheng cursed, “What else would it be? I have only one daughter, and she just had to fall for this useless little brat. Do you think I can stand by and watch my daughter become a widow while she’s still in her twenties?”
“Damn it! I was fine before we started talking about this. Now I feel miserable!”
“You’d think someone as clever as me would have raised a daughter with some sense. Instead, this brat has bewitched her completely. What exactly does she see in him?”
“Ah, well… the rice has already been cooked. We’ll just have to accept the loss.”
After saying this, Liu Zhoucheng shouldered his fishing rod and walked toward Jiang Fan.
“Kid! How about we swap rods for a while? I’ll use mine, and you can use your rebar fishing rod.”
Jiang Fan shot him a sidelong glance. “Old geezer, I’ll give you one word: screw off!”
Liu Zhoucheng immediately began cursing. “How dare you tell me to screw off? Get a divorce! You must divorce my daughter!”
“Old geezer, you’re disturbing my fishing,” Jiang Fan said.
Liu Zhoucheng glanced at him. “I only came to get some bait. Do you still have that bait from before?”
Jiang Fan said, “You mean the Wild Battle Blue Crucian—Crooked-Mouth Dragon King, War God Edition bait? It’s in my bag. Go get it yourself.”
Liu Zhoucheng rummaged through Jiang Fan’s backpack and took out two packets of Wild Battle Blue Crucian—Crooked-Mouth Dragon King, War God Edition bait.
But then…
“Kid, how many times have I been to your place? I’ve never seen any ingredients for homemade bait. Where exactly do you get all this bait?”
Jiang Fan chuckled. “Trying to pry my bait formula out of me? No chance!”
“…”
