Chapter 33: Aunt, how does it feel?

Elsewhere.
Qin Feng was still practicing hand seals out of sheer boredom.
There was nothing else he could do. He dared not go outside during the day, and since he could find nothing to occupy himself, he had no choice but to practice hand seals.
He felt that the hand seals Mu Ruxue had taught him were already etched into his bones. In the space of a single breath, he could form more than ten different seals.
If Daoist White Crane and the others learned of such speed, they would be stunned for half a day. When they formed seals, being able to complete two in a single breath was already considered fast. Three was exceptional, while four was the absolute pinnacle.
Naturally, this was also related to one’s personal strength. Even so, not even a Daoist master of the Yin-Piercing Realm could form more than ten hand seals in the space of one breath.
That was the difference between the body of a zombie and the flesh-and-blood body of a human.
Zombies possessed immense strength, and their speed was naturally greater as well.
As the seconds passed, night slowly descended.
Once evening arrived, Qin Feng stretched his limbs and exhaled a long breath of corpse energy.
Night was much more comfortable.
The daytime had been far too oppressive. His strength had truly been suppressed to no small degree.
“Phew…”
Mu Ruxue was sitting cross-legged on the bed. She pushed both palms downward from above and let out a long breath.
“Auntie, how do you feel?” Qin Feng asked, looking at her vigorous vitality.
“A thousand-year-old ginseng truly is a heavenly treasure. My injuries have completely recovered.”
A hint of delight appeared on Mu Ruxue’s exquisite, beautiful face.
Without the thousand-year-old ginseng, it would have taken her several months at least to recover.
“That’s wonderful.” Qin Feng was genuinely happy for her.
“By the way, Feng’er, now that you can walk, I’ll teach you the Ritual Steps. With your talent, you’ll master them very quickly. Once you learn them, your strength will rise another level.”
Mu Ruxue looked at Qin Feng.
“Very well.”
Qin Feng nodded firmly.
He had just been about to ask her himself. He had not expected her to bring it up first.
Mu Ruxue then began teaching him the Ritual Steps.
In merely an hour, Qin Feng had learned every form that Mu Ruxue knew.
There were four in total: the Kui Star Kicking the Dipper Steps, the Primordial Eight Trigrams Steps, the Yin-Yang Two Principles Steps, and the Four Symbols Suppressing Evil Steps.

Although they were not the most supreme forms of ritual footwork, they were still profound techniques among the many varieties that existed.
After all, White Cloud Temple was not a major sect and did not possess any of the finest ritual steps.
Speaking of which, Auntie truly possessed extraordinary talent.
Not only had she mastered four forms of ritual footwork, but she also knew numerous hand seals, incantations, sword techniques, and more.
Previously, when Qin Feng had dealt with Daoist White Crane and the others, only White Crane had been able to use more than two forms of ritual footwork.
Everyone else knew only one.
When Qin Feng had switched freely between two forms during battle, those Daoist masters had been utterly astonished.
At the time, he had found it strange. Was switching between ritual steps during a fight really so astonishing?
“Feng’er, you’re incredible. It took me an entire year to master these four forms, yet you learned them in just one hour.”
Mu Ruxue gazed at Qin Feng with both shock and envy.
A zombie actually possessed such astonishing talent.
It was a pity that zombies could not cast spells.
If they could, what use would there be for Daoist masters?
With Qin Feng’s talent, no matter how difficult a spell might be, he could probably master it in an extremely short time.
“Auntie, you flatter me.”
“I’m not flattering you. You really are extraordinary. With talent like yours, you would be considered a prodigy even in a major sect. Looking across the entire Daoist world, I doubt there is anyone more monstrous than you.”
Mu Ruxue spoke with a grave expression.
Yet the greater his talent, the more dangerous Qin Feng’s situation became.
Especially now that Daoist White Crane and the others had escaped.
Once they returned and informed their sects about Qin Feng, those sects would stop at nothing to kill him.
They would never allow a zombie of such monstrous potential to remain alive in this world.
After a pause, Mu Ruxue glanced at the night outside the window. Her eyes sharpened.
“Feng’er, we must leave this place at once. Daoist White Crane and the others may already have brought people to search for you throughout Songshan City. With their methods, they’ll find this place very soon.”
“Where will we go?” Qin Feng asked.
He now had the feeling that, though the world was vast, there was nowhere for him to take shelter.
It seemed that danger awaited him wherever he went.
After all, those Daoist masters could follow his corpse energy and pinpoint his location.
If only he could conceal it.
“Let’s go into the mountains first. We can’t remain in the city any longer.”
Mu Ruxue thought for a moment before answering.
She had originally intended to hide with Qin Feng in Songshan City for the time being and evade the pursuit of the One Yang Sect.
But now, it was no longer merely the One Yang Sect.
Qin Feng had killed so many Daoist masters and had even openly killed someone in the city, causing a grave public disturbance. Those seeking to deal with him were no longer limited to the One Yang Sect.
The city was covered with surveillance cameras. The police might already have identified the courtyard through the footage.
“All right. I’ll listen to you, Auntie.”
Qin Feng nodded.
He then brought the eight zombies and followed Mu Ruxue along a deserted road out of the city.

When they reached the outskirts, Mu Ruxue took rootless water, soot from the bottom of a cooking pot, yellow clay, and human bone ash from her person.
She mixed all of them together.
“Auntie, what are you doing?” Qin Feng asked curiously.
“I’m making corpse mud to conceal your corpse energy.”
Using a wooden stick, Mu Ruxue lifted a lump of black, sticky mud.
“Smear it over your body. You don’t need to cover yourself completely—just apply a thin layer. The eight zombies need to be treated as well.”
“All right.”
Qin Feng did not find it disgusting in the least. He grabbed a lump and smeared it over himself, then applied it to the eight zombies.
And sure enough, once the mud covered them, he could no longer smell the corpse energy of the eight zombies.
Even his own corpse energy seemed to vanish.
“Auntie, you know far too many tricks.”
“Is this really so much? You simply haven’t encountered Daoist disciples who truly possess a wide range of methods. Besides, using corpse mud to conceal corpse energy is not foolproof. Against an expert, it can be dispelled with ease. Unfortunately, I don’t have a Breath-Concealing Talisman. If I did, it would be much better. It could completely restrain the corpse energy emanating from all of you.”
Mu Ruxue explained.
“It’s fine. The corpse mud is enough.”
Qin Feng smiled.
“You really haven’t encountered a true expert yet. You have no idea how formidable the methods of the Daoist world can be.”
Mu Ruxue gave Qin Feng an exasperated look before leading him into a vast mountain.
The mountain path was rugged and covered with thorns.
At Qin Feng’s suggestion, Mu Ruxue sat atop his outstretched hands. He was immensely strong, after all, and a weight of forty or fifty kilograms was nothing to him.
After they crossed one mountain, range upon range of others stretched beyond it, rolling into the distance as far as the eye could see.
These regions were rarely visited by humans and teemed with venomous snakes and wild beasts.
Beyond those, there were also countless mountain spirits, ghosts, demons, and other sinister creatures.
An ordinary person who came here would not survive even a single day.
“We’ve entered Songshan City’s primeval forest reserve. Let’s see whether there’s a cave nearby.”
Mu Ruxue gazed at the towering trees around them.
Thick layers of leaves had gathered beneath the trees, and from time to time, enormous roots could be seen protruding from the earth.
Rustle, rustle…
At that moment, a faint sound arose.
“What was that? Auntie, did you hear it?”
Qin Feng frowned. His eyes instantly turned keen, and his entire body tensed, ready to strike at any moment.
“I heard it. It came from behind us.”
Mu Ruxue leaped down from Qin Feng’s hands.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, something resembling a rope emerged from beneath the thick layer of leaves.
It coiled around the legs of one of the black zombies, then swiftly dragged it beneath the earth.
