Chapter Thirty: Run Quickly, Aunt's Reproach!

Outside the karst cave.
“Daoist Windless is coming out!”
The White Crane Daoist and the other two, who had fled the cave early, brightened when they saw Windless rushing out.
“Daoist Windless, did you kill that zombie?” one of the old Daoists asked.
“Quick, run!” Windless shouted in panic.
There was no trace left of his earlier arrogance or imposing bearing.
“Run?”
The White Crane Daoist and the other two frowned and exchanged bewildered glances.
Then they sensed a powerful surge of corpse aura charging out from within the cave.
A moment later, they saw Qin Feng, his face青 and his fangs bared, rushing toward them like a maddened beast.
“A Furred Zombie! It... it has broken through to the Furred Zombie realm!”
The White Crane Daoist’s pupils contracted.
Without the slightest hesitation, he pulled out a yellow talisman.
The character for “travel” was written in the center of the talisman’s seal.
When he stuck the talisman to his foot, his entire body shot away like a bolt of lightning.
He moved so quickly that he even surpassed Windless.
This was the Daoist School’s Thousand-Mile Divine Travel Talisman.
It allowed one to travel a thousand miles in a day, and its speed was astonishing.
It was an exceptional talisman for saving one’s life.
“A Thousand-Mile Divine Travel Talisman?”
The other two old Daoists were stunned for a moment before each resorting to their own escape techniques.
One of them held a yellow talisman and swept his right hand through the air.
The talisman immediately expanded in the wind, transforming into a gigantic yellow talisman carpet.
The carpet floated in midair.
He leaped onto it and rode it away at high speed.
The last man formed hand seals and began chanting an incantation.
He lightly stamped his right foot.
With a sharp whoosh, his entire body sank into the earth.
This was the Daoist School’s earth-escape technique.
To ordinary people, such abilities were the work of immortals.
But to practitioners of the Daoist arts, they were nothing more than commonplace skills.
At present, this zombie had reached the Furred Zombie realm.
Even Windless, a Daoist expert in the early Soul-Separation realm who could leave his body in spirit form, had fled. The three of them were merely trash at the late Spirit Communion realm. What could they possibly use to fight Qin Feng?
Although an early-stage Furred Zombie was equivalent to the early Spirit Communion realm, this zombie was simply too monstrous.
It was not only immune to talismans.
It had also mastered the Steps of the Heavenly Dipper, along with fist techniques, palm techniques, and more.

Its physical defenses and strength were formidable as well.
Even at full strength, they had no absolute confidence that they could defeat Qin Feng.
“Damn it, they ran so fast!”
Qin Feng stood at the cave entrance, thoroughly frustrated.
These people were far too spineless.
One early Soul-Separation practitioner and three late Spirit Communion practitioners had fled the moment they faced a mere early-stage Furred Zombie like him.
They could at least have joined forces and fought him once.
Now that they were outside the cave, could they not use thunder arts?
“What a pity.”
Qin Feng sighed.
He had still hoped to drain the blood from Windless and the others.
Coming back to himself, Qin Feng returned to the cave and carried out the old Daoist who had undergone corpse transformation.
Just as he had previously verified, after he reached the early Furred Zombie realm, the old Daoist had directly become an early-stage Leaping Zombie following his transformation—equivalent to the Qi-Controlling realm.
That realm was already far from weak.
Within a sect like the One Yang Sect, someone at that level would be considered an inner disciple.
Back then—
Well, not back then exactly. It had only been last night. When Qin Feng had faced a Daoist disciple in the Qi-Controlling realm, he had been able to do nothing but flee.
“Stay close to me,” Qin Feng said to the transformed old Daoist.
Then he led the old zombie toward the compound the White Cloud Abbey maintained in the city.
Whenever he could take a zombie with him, he chose to do so.
If one could not be moved, there was nothing to be done except burn it, lest it cause trouble.
Still, although this battle had greatly increased his strength and even caused his body to undergo a mutation, his identity had been exposed, and Windless and the others had escaped. The trouble that followed would surely be considerable.
Moreover, now that they knew his strength and abilities, there was no guarantee they would not send even more powerful Daoist mages after him.
Given how monstrous his potential was, they would certainly never allow him to remain alive.
“Forget it. If soldiers come, I will meet them with soldiers; if the floods come, I will hold them back with earth. My identity is already exposed, so there is no point worrying about it.”
Qin Feng could no longer be bothered to dwell on the matter.
For now, he only needed to improve his strength as much as possible.
Once he possessed sufficient power, so what if he was a zombie?
Who would dare lay a hand on him?
Qin Feng raised his head and glanced at the paling sky.
Dawn should arrive in a little over an hour.
He had to return before sunrise. Otherwise, once the sunlight appeared, he would turn into a pool of pus even without the Daoist mages lifting a finger.
Qin Feng quickened his pace.
After more than forty minutes, he returned to the compound with the old zombie.
The moment he arrived, the eastern horizon began to glow pale.
The first ray of sunlight pierced the horizon as the morning sun slowly rose in the east.
“Feng’er, where have you been?”
Mu Ruxue emerged from the room, puffing angrily, and scolded Qin Feng. “Didn’t I tell you to stay in the compound?”

“Do you realize that you’re a zombie now? The One Yang Sect is searching everywhere for you. If you go running around recklessly, you could get yourself killed!”
“Auntie, I’m perfectly fine, aren’t I?”
Qin Feng grinned, feeling somewhat moved.
The angrier his aunt became, the more it proved how deeply she cared about him.
“You broke through to the Furred Zombie realm? That’s far too fast. You only transformed last night, and tonight you’re already a Furred Zombie.”
Only then did Mu Ruxue notice Qin Feng’s cultivation level, and her entire face filled with astonishment.
“Mm.”
Qin Feng nodded. He then told her everything in detail: how he had gone to seek revenge, how he had encountered the White Crane Daoist, and how he had seized the thousand-year-old ginseng.
He even told her that the White Crane Daoist and Windless had escaped.
“Feng’er, you were far too impulsive. Why did you go seeking revenge at a time like this? And killing members of the Daoist sect was bad enough—yet you killed so many ordinary people as well. The consequences of killing ordinary people are extremely serious. No wonder I saw police cars everywhere in the city tonight.”
Mu Ruxue’s pretty face was filled with worry.
“I couldn’t hold it in any longer. I couldn’t endure even one more day. As long as that despicable couple remained alive, I felt miserable all over. Now that they’re dead, I feel much better. It’s as though the resentment lodged in my throat has finally been released,” Qin Feng said.
How could he not know that this was not the best time to seek revenge?
The problem was that he could no longer bear it.
Every additional day that Li Bufan and Liu Xue remained alive had been torture for him.
“What’s done is done. We can only deal with whatever comes,” Mu Ruxue sighed.
She walked over to Qin Feng and gently smoothed his hair.
“Feng’er, I’m sorry for what I said earlier. I was too loud. I was only worried about your safety.”
A trace of remorse appeared on Mu Ruxue’s face.
“Auntie, you don’t need to apologize to me. I’m the one who should apologize. I went out without telling you and made you worry.”
Qin Feng took both her hands in his.
“Feng’er... your fingernails...”
Mu Ruxue’s eyes suddenly grew moist.
“Auntie, I was just about to tell you. I can hide my fingernails—and my body hair too. Look.”
Qin Feng demonstrated it for her on the spot.
Mu Ruxue was so shocked that her small mouth fell wide open, large enough to fit a duck egg.
“And I can walk now, too.”
Qin Feng skillfully walked several steps in front of her.
Only after quite some time did Mu Ruxue recover from her shock.
“Feng’er, you changed far too much during this one outing. Setting your appearance aside, you look exactly like a human now. You’re such a freak of nature that even I’m completely stunned.”
With that, Mu Ruxue took Qin Feng by the hand and led him toward his room.
“Come on, Feng’er. Your aunt has prepared plenty of blood for you.”
