Volume 1, Chapter 9: The Madam Got Into a Fight With a Teacher at the Kindergarten
The next day, Su Wanqing went to the kindergarten first to withdraw Xie Kexin from enrollment.
The teacher spotted her and immediately hurried over. In the nearly hidden marriage between Xie Yanchen and Su Wanqing, she was one of the few people outside their circle of friends who knew they were a married couple.
"Kexin's mother, you're here?" As usual, she reached out to take Xie Kexin, intending to show how well she got along with the child.
However, Su Wanqing pulled Xie Kexin a step back, her gaze cold and distant. "Teacher Li, I would like to see your principal."
The smile on Li Yan's face stiffened. Assuming Su Wanqing was there to cause trouble, she immediately grabbed her and explained, looking pained: "Kexin's mother, I think you've misunderstood. Although I let Kexin go last time without your permission, you know that when Mr. Xie comes in person, how could I possibly refuse? You are a magnanimous person, please don't make it difficult for us working folk, okay?"
"Besides, you know Kexin's situation. Aside from our kindergarten, other schools would be even less suitable for her. If you won't think of me, you must at least think of the child."
It was the peak drop-off time, and with people coming and going, Li Yan kept her voice low, looking at Su Wanqing with a pleading expression.
In truth, Su Wanqing was not there to settle scores. Because of Kexin's special needs, ordinary kindergartens were indeed not suitable for her education. That was why Xie Yanchen had originally stepped in to find this school, using his investment as leverage to ensure they took extra care of Kexin. She knew that with Xie Yanchen appearing in person, Li Yan as a teacher could hardly refuse.
But even so, the teacher could have called her the moment Xie Yanchen appeared, allowing her to handle the communication. Instead, despite previous warnings and clear instructions, the teacher had still let Xie Kexin be taken away. Dealing with such an irresponsible teacher, she considered herself unlucky; even without knowing about Xie Kexin’s prodigy-like abilities, she would have done everything in her power to transfer her daughter. Furthermore, Xu Qiuyun had already connected her with a professional teacher for one-on-one tutoring. There was simply no need for this kindergarten anymore.
Su Wanqing said earnestly, "Teacher Li, I am not here to cause trouble. I am simply here to withdraw Kexin, so please call the principal."
Li Yan knew she had done wrong, but seeing Su Wanqing’s aggressive stance and her demand to withdraw the child, she felt it was clearly an act of vengeance. Moreover, with a "big Buddha" like Xie Kexin in the school, the Xie Group had provided for the facilities and infrastructure, improving everyone’s working environment. If the principal found out she had angered Xie Kexin’s mother to the point of withdrawal, she would surely be fired.
The smile on her face became difficult to maintain. She continued, "Kexin's mother, please don't be so agitated. Let’s talk this through properly; there’s no need to go as far as withdrawing, is there?"
"Besides, look, Kexin is perfectly fine. There’s no problem at all! I understand your heart as a mother, but a father is also very important to a child. You cannot stop the child from spending time with her father! That will only harm Kexin's condition, not help it!"
Watching Li Yan’s "I’m doing this for your own good" expression, Su Wanqing could only think of the scene where she had rushed over to find her daughter left aside, crying pitifully, while Xie Yanchen was busy flirting with Su Wanning.
The coldness on her face deepened. "I said, I am here to see the principal. Teacher Li, please step aside."
By now, most of the students had already entered the building. No longer fearing a scene, Li Yan continued to block the entrance. "Kexin's mother, I know I upset you this time, but I was busy with something and didn't have time to tell you."
Seeing no change in Su Wanqing's expression, a flash of impatience crossed Li Yan’s eyes. She thought to herself, *How did I never notice this woman was so much trouble!*
In a blink, the impatience vanished, and she raised her hand as if swearing an oath. "I promise you, if this happens again, I will notify you the very first moment. I will never let Mr. Xie take the child away easily again. That should satisfy you, right?"
Su Wanqing saw through her performance, but what truly angered her was the realization that the teacher had known the best course of action all along and simply chosen not to do it.
Su Wanqing did not want to say another word to such an irresponsible teacher. She took out her phone. "Fine. If you won't let me in, I will call your principal myself."
Li Yan grew desperate. She lunged forward to grab the phone, blurting out recklessly, "Kexin's mother, I bet this is exactly why Mr. Xie kicked you to the curb! I advise you to make the most of this kindergarten while you still can. Once you lose your connection to Mr. Xie, you’ll be left alone to hold this autistic child and cry against a wall!"
She had chatted with the woman who came to pick up Xie Kexin that day, and later she had even seen that woman leave while holding Mr. Xie’s arm! She was offering advice out of kindness, and if the woman wouldn't accept it, well, who could blame her? What man would ever like such a stubborn and self-righteous woman? With this thought, Li Yan became even more reckless.
During their struggle, Su Wanqing’s phone hit the ground with a crack, the screen shattering. She herself was shoved to the ground by Li Yan.
The commotion was so loud that it frightened Xie Kexin, who had been immersed in her own world, into tears. A security guard nearby, seeing a teacher fighting with a parent, immediately pressed the internal alarm button.
At that moment, at the Xie Group headquarters, Xie Yanchen was busy with official business. Hearing a knock at the door, he didn't look up and muttered, "Enter."
Secretary Wang held his phone, cast a cautious glance at his boss, and hesitated. "Mr. Xie... it’s a call from the young miss’s kindergarten."
Xie Yanchen’s hand paused. "What happened?"
Wang Zhengzhen gritted his teeth and repeated exactly what he had just heard: "Well... the Madam is fighting with a teacher at the kindergarten and is demanding to withdraw the child. The principal says they don't know what to do..."
Xie Yanchen looked up, his usually calm and indifferent face showing a slight crack. "What did you say?"
Wang Zhengzhen repeated it. Seeing that Xie Yanchen remained silent for a long time, Wang did not dare to act on his own. It had taken him a full minute just to process what was happening when he first heard the news.
Honestly, he found it both ridiculous and absurd. He had crossed paths with the Madam a few times; his impression was that she was beautiful and dignified, prettier than a movie star, and spoke in a soft, gentle voice—the picture of elegance and intelligence. Furthermore, she had tolerated Mr. Xie for so many years; the idea of her getting into a physical fight with her daughter’s teacher? He didn't believe it for a second! Despite not meeting often, Wang Zhengzhen had a very high opinion of Su Wanqing.
After a long silence, Xie Yanchen finally set down his pen and looked up. "Tell the principal to investigate the situation himself. If it is indeed Su Wanqing’s fault, then deal with it however necessary. Do not consider me."
Wang Zhengzhen had been prepared to go get the car and go back his boss’s wife, but hearing this, he froze. "But..."
Xie Yanchen picked up his pen again, his tone cold. "Do I need to repeat myself?"
Wang Zhengzhen sensed his boss's impatience. Although he had his doubts, he dared not say another word. He bowed respectfully and retreated. "Yes, sir."
