Su Wanqing practically fled out of the room as if escaping for her life. She hurriedly buttoned up the torn buttons of her clothes without looking up and rushed toward the exit. Unexpectedly, she collided headlong with Xie Siwei, who was standing guard by the door.

"Damn it! Who walks around without looking where they’re going? You just ran right into me!" Xie Siwei rubbed her shoulder and shouted angrily.

At this moment, Su Wanqing just wanted to leave this place as quickly as possible. She lowered her voice and said, “Sorry.” Then she tried to slip past Xie Siwei and get out.

But Xie Siwei, still angry from earlier with Su Wanqing and now nursing a sore shoulder from the collision, wasn’t about to let her leave so easily. Casually lifting her foot, she planted her leg firmly against the doorframe, blocking Su Wanqing’s way.

“What do you mean by that? You bump into me and just say sorry, and that’s it?”

Su Wanqing’s mind was still trapped in the turmoil caused by Xie Yancheng. She had no energy to deal with the bratty, unreasonable Xie Siwei.

“Then you can bump into me back,” she said weakly, straightening her back and urging, “Hurry up, I have things to do.”

When she looked up, Xie Siwei caught sight of her swollen, reddened lips. A shadow of darkness flickered in her eyes. After scrutinizing her from head to toe, Xie Siwei suddenly slapped Su Wanqing hard.

“Su Wanqing, you’re shameless! My brother has already made up with Sister Ning, and yet you still want to throw yourself at him!”

“How can you be so despicable? Can’t you live without a man?”

She was furious. On one hand, she had never liked Su Wanqing — a woman from the countryside who hadn’t even finished elementary school, unworthy even to polish her brother’s shoes, but somehow she had become his wife. On the other hand, she was angry that Su Wanqing had interfered with the relationship between Su Wanning and Xie Yancheng.

The two had grown up together since childhood. Although the Su family’s status was far inferior to the Xie family’s, Su Wanning’s character was outstanding, gentle, and meticulous. Since childhood, she had always been followed by Su Wanning’s calls of “Sister Ning, Sister Ning.”

Su Wanning and Xie Yancheng were childhood sweethearts. If it hadn’t been for Su Wanqing five years ago, she would have become her sister-in-law long ago.

Now that Su Wanning had finally returned and had even invited them to the Su family’s home for dinner the other day, Xie Siwei knew at once that her brother still loved Su Wanning.

She had even heard that he was planning to divorce Su Wanqing for Su Wanning’s sake!
