Volume One, Chapter 28: The First Synthesis
He took out the two fruits representing the "One-Eyed" and the "Snail Demon," and tossed them both into the synthesis hole atop the Ten-Thousand Demon Tree.
"Ah, you fool! The One-Eyed monster is extremely rare, and you're actually combining it with the Snail Demon, that worthless thing? Such a waste," Kang blurted out in agitation upon seeing Montage’s choice.
"Worthless? I actually think they’re quite compatible," Montage replied with a smile, offering no further explanation.
Time passed bit by bit. After a few minutes, a new fruit appeared on the Ten-Thousand Demon Tree.
Both men hurried to examine it.
A line of information emerged:
[Ten-Thousand Demon Fruit: Unknown]
[Attributes: Water, Earth]
[Abilities: Regeneration, Division, Corrosion...]
Yang Dong finally felt a little better, but then the system suddenly spoke two keywords: "some world" and "possession." Could it be that the world he now found himself in was not Earth? Possession? Now that he was only a soul, had he attached himself to someone else?
On the map, Mo Jian and his crew kept running circles, sometimes hunting others, sometimes fleeing from larger teams.
Soon, the walkie-talkie brought back a result: The suspect had arrived at Xinghua Island by passenger ship.
Prince Bonali, completely unable to understand the royal guard’s unexpected actions, clenched his fist in frustration, yet could do nothing to retrieve him.
By coincidence, just as Yi Xingchen hung up with Dan Ren Zheng, only seconds later, Tong Xin’s call came through.
---
"Let it go," Yang Dong laughed. In truth, he hadn't been angry with Su Ruobing, just suddenly irritated and venting on her. Now that Su Ruobing had lowered herself so, most of his anger had already dissipated.
Though he had no idea what "Sakali" was planning, the thought of feeding those parasite seeds to the gaping maw of Xuan Yu Huangxing kept Lin Mo subconsciously alert.
The two bodyguards exchanged glances. They knew Li Feng could truly cost them their jobs, so they dared not contradict him and resolved to follow and protect him.
Night fell, clouds blanketing the sky, hiding moon and stars. The cold climate forced the soldiers of Bingzhou to light massive braziers in their tents.
After hurriedly exchanging a few words, Yun Yi pulled Wuhen along, bidding farewell to Mu Jiuhua and Cao Yun, and headed for Danzhen Hall.
“How long can our ammunition and food last? What about medicine?” Zhao Zhi’s heart lifted upon hearing there were still fifteen comrades able to fight; things weren’t as dire as he’d feared. At least he retained a squad of mobile troops.
By chance, they learned Lin Junxiong was fighting against the Japanese in the Northeast. Wang Lianfang, Liu Mazi, and Qin Fugui discussed and decided to join him. With over a hundred men, they seized a ship, landed in Dandong after much hardship, entered the Liaodong mountains, and by luck encountered Yun Dong.
Li Yang took the jade pendant, and immediately understood who the visitor was. Without another word, he strode out of the mansion.
His magic points had become true energy, but pitifully low—only twenty points remained. Spring Restoration used two, otherwise he would have been at a loss.
Suddenly, the butler’s head rolled, blood splattering everywhere, painting the hall a shocking crimson.
“There’s something I need to handle. You chat, I’ll go take a shower,” Li Yan said with a smile.
“You… these poems, you didn’t get them from the internet, did you?” Zhong Qing eyed Chu Nan with suspicion.
Yet Chu Nan believed him; though the Tang Sect wasn’t wealthy beyond measure, it was still a dominant force. How could they let their heir be someone’s bodyguard?
After hanging up, Sara took four or five screenshots of the campus forum posts and comments and sent them to her father.
Behind him, Zhu Zhen and Ouyang Mingyue had stabilized themselves only thanks to their breakthrough in cultivation.
Liu Rong rubbed his shoulder. Although the gunshot wound had healed, his hatred for Qin Mo and Liu Yao had only deepened.
---
When General Yue Fei’s injustice was finally redressed, the prison guard had already passed away; it was his son who reported the location of Yue Fei’s remains to the court.
Dong Changquan left home and found Yuan Xiuqing, who was still working overtime at the police station. Since his promotion, he had become especially busy.
Er Gou nodded, “Thank you for the warning. I just wanted to report what I saw to him.”
Wang San, Liu Yao, and the others saw that Qin Mo had so many Gatling guns, their eyes glowing with excitement.
“What? You’re Shi Luoying? Impossible! How could a hideous woman have such a beautiful voice?” The man flatly denied it, refusing to believe.
After witnessing the scene, Wang San immediately ran to report it to Qin Mo.
He struggled instinctively, kicking his legs and reaching for the M9 pistol at his waist. His fingers touched the cold trigger; the bullet was chambered, the firing pin ready. As soon as he drew it and aimed at Charlemagne’s head, he would regain control of the situation.
This bloodline meant that as long as Luo Sect’s Jie reached level six, he could solo-kill the card. Lin Lin knew this too. He now faced the choice of recalling or staying in lane; he had to clear this wave, and as long as Jie didn’t reach level six, he wouldn’t be in danger.
“Understood, Senior Bodhi Seed,” Lin Tian replied, glancing at Chen Yi with a hint of challenge. Chen Yi, familiar with his temperament, paid no mind. The matter was thus settled, though Chen Yi still had questions.
“EMP lost the first match!” Anyone could see that the prince, appearing for the first time in the global S series tournament, played a vital role, opening the eyes of many teams.
Liu Bowen had studied Chen Youliang; he’d seen his portrait—an ambitious, ruthless figure.
Even Hao Tian, who suppressed an entire era, wielded forty-two chains of divine order, but from the first to the ninth order god realm, he only dared to refine nine shells of ninth order gods.
